Alien: Isolation...

Just read this review:

Agree with most of it, but I still think the Alien is more scripted than they've made out. I think the autonomy is very localised. If I'm in one area, the alien is almost guaranteed to be 'somewhere' in that same area. It's very hard, almost impossible, to lose the creature.

Two hours in and the Alien isn't really around yet anyway :D
 
Completed it last night on hard and took me 15 hours. I loved the game but feel it wasn't scared at all which is a shame :-(. It was no where near as scarey as outlast or amnesia which both of them made me scream like a girl a few times. I found the last 8 missions easy once you get certain weapons and tools to the point you don't even need to hide anymore which I think took away any of the fear of the game. I found the medical mission where you have to get that doctors key card and when you have to get the trauma kit the hardest and most terrifying part of the game. However I really enjoyed the last few missions it's just a shame about the ending which I thought was abit of a let down. What did everyone else think of the ending?

Really enjoyed the game, though I did feel it kind of dragged a bit toward the end. I couldnt help but think "really?? ANOTHER thing has gone wrong/broken? Seriously, is this woman just a magnet for bad luck or something"

I found the ending fine, typical ending of the horror/sci-fi genre and clearly intended to set up a future sequel.

If anyone has Oculus DK2 in here, you really need to play this game with it. It makes the game about 10 times better. Playing to 2d is just cack now

Head tracking and being able to move you head and look around a corner is just awesome.

Do you still move the character body using WASD? How do you fare with motion sickness when you move with WASD and your head telling you you're not moving?

Has not been a problem for me, I guess the slower speed helps. Started feeling very ill after HL2, I suppose bcause of the three way control adding in the seperate controls - ergh, feeling a little sick now thinking about it. But Minecrift and AI seem to have got it pretty good.
 
With the VR headsets can you move the camera independently of the crosshair?
As it wouldn't make sense that the crosshair moves when you look around with your head.

A lot of games support this, especially when using TrackIR that has been out for years.

I used to use TrackIR to move the character view independently from the gun aim in ArmA. TF2 supports it too.
This is where the motion sickness comes from too. With OR, your eyes are telling you that your body is moving, but your ears aren't, so you get motion sick.
 
I have this stupid bug thats doing my head in. At first I thought it was part of the game and you would need to activate power..

When ever I open computer terminal or Rewire system it just shows black screen. It was only till I pressed ESC till I knew it was a bug.

I haven't had that, but often when I open a terminal, I see empty folders. It's only after I escape then go back in do I see the items to interact with.
 
Does this have much re playability? Only just shelled out for Shadow of Mordor, not sure if I can afford another full price release yet :p
