The Creative Assembly - they do the Total War games too. Some of the stuff from Shogun was based on pics he took when we went on holiday in Japan.

He doesn't frequent these forums, but I'll pass on the kind words :)

Don't worry - whenever I see him he becomes Alien fodder or a wrench victim!
 
Played about 4 hours last night, two of which were in in the dark with headphones on. Ok, I'm only playing on medium, but it's still not scary. IMO, the alien AI just isn't that good. After a while you can predict what it will do, then you just just throw a flare or noise maker to keep him there. The 'Oh a stick! Fetch the stick! animation is always the same, so it's pretty easy to just time him. All you have to do is stay crouch and move to the next hallway.

I am enjoying this game, but it does just feel like I'm playing with a pet more than fighting for survival. I predict I'm about halfway through having just completed the Marlow 'memory' scene.

try that crap on hard mode, it will throw you about instead.

Not sure, all I know is on start screen it a says to play on hard to experience the game as intended.

I different I always jump to hard first.
 
Well holy ****

Just came close to crapping my pants. Was in the medical bay, ran from him and heard him chasing but got into a room and under a table. He followed and I was convinced he was going to find me, was roaming around for about a minute then looked under the table opposite me, heart was pounding. But then he looked like he was giving up and walked past my table, I was just about to relax when out of nowhere he appeared looking under my table and killed me. Shouted at my tv in fright!!
 
In the same section I found a save point about two rooms away from the next objective, I'd run through two rooms and the last room had a door which would slowly open into a pitch black corridor.

Yeah... guess who was waiting for me in the dark directly behind the door. I only noticed he was there when I saw his TEETH!! I did this half closed mouth, holding breath, squeal shrug.

Just got this. Had a quick play around and it ran fine on my p35k laptop, although the fan was going crazy. Any graphics tweaks I should use for the laptop?

Game exclusive Ripley DLC is no longer exclusive to Game its on Steam for £2.79 now. How much you love this game is if you buy or not its over very quickly I completed it last week in about 30 mins & there is no reason to return either.

I do not think I will ever buy from Game again for the sake of a week they should not have been allowed to market the DLC as Game exclusive :rolleyes:

It was not exclusive to Game anyway, I got it included with my free copy as part of the AMD Never Settle Space Edition....I think all the pre orders got it
 
I'm trying to do the lock down and the alien is always where I am. I definitely think this game is very much staged - the autonomous bit was very much exaggerated IMO.
 
Just completed it. Stunning game with many memorable cinematic moments. Took around 20-25 hours so lengthy for an SP only game.

I hope it sells well enough for the same team to make another this is one of the best games of 2014 if not the past few years.

I know it gets repetitive but all games do eventually. While it lasts this is a very good game :D
 
Thought I would share the benchmark, Ran and recorded in 4K via Shadowplay and put some music over it as it was too quiet :)

Unless you have super internet let it buffer in 4K or just run it in 1080P for nearly the same quality.
