Alien: Isolation...

Well, I had to have a break from any game for a bit as I've had three weeks of a major cold, back to it now though...
and I was so disappointed how the alien dies, not just that it's that early but you don't really have much of a hand in it either. After that I was getting a bit annoyed with the Joe's so was getting a bit concerned with the direction of the game, now I've done the core it's back to it. :D

For those who have completed the game check my spoiler and tell me how much time left till the end?

Could someone explain to me why people are having issues with the ending? I thought it was quite badass myself but I keep seeing upset comments.

Wrap it in a spoiler tag. Thanks.

Even that guys film comments made me laugh. Honestly has no clue.

I love it, how old school it is. Funny watching all these kiddies screaming 'WHERE DO I GO! SHOW ME!'. As if the scanner and map isn't enough already. Or complaining how random the stalking alien is. That's the point, you eedjit!

I like games where you learn the mechanics as you play along and try things, without the game actively telling you what to do. I suppose they could have a 'babysitting' mode in Easy. Maybe they'll get the idea.

Slightly disappointed by the ending. Too scripted and too many jump scares tropes. But hey, action time!

Bored of not having another game to play that matches up to this. Where's HL3 :S

What other single player games could possibly live up to this kind of atmosphere coming out this year?

Still not played it for more than 2 minutes yet, looking forward to it though! I tried with the Rift but my current PC wasn't up to it... building a new one as I type so hopefully it can cope (5820K/980). :)

That's how I feel now, I even started to replay it as I have nothing that gets even close.

Hoping there is some decent DLC coming out.

This is a game I am praying for a sequel.

Even at the end at the core I wasn't scared. Like the reviews I've read, the only fear, was not getting to save point before you were teleport grabbed by the cheating xeno and having to do all the previous stuff again. I enjoyed the game, but it did not scare me at all, aside from the scripted explosions etc.

I can't see there not being being an AI 2 after this one's ending...

Its not really what I would call scary.....but then what is when you're a fully grown adult?

I find it incredibly tense.....and that tension and atmosphere along with the 1st class Audio and Graphics/Enviroment, put it in my top games of all time......a game that will definetely live in my memory for a long time.

I am playing it on hard and although I have died MANY, MANY times in certain areas, I never felt that I was being cheated by the AI and after much practise and learning how the Alien operates, I generally can avoid the alien 90% of the time (allthough im at the part where he isnt about).

Compartively I got the Evil Within at the same time......tried playing that and the gulf in class between the two games is universes apart. (although I know this is subjective)

As mentioned IGN gave TEW a relatively high score (which is buggy and the story litterally makes no sense, with poor graphics) and Alien a relatively poor score....so I can see why people are annoyed at them.

Alien = GOTY for me so far.

So what are the excuses of adults that brick themselves when they play Amnesia or Slenderman etc? :D

ha...I'm not sure, as I said I tend to find these games tense, palms sweating while I try to survive and if I get caught and killed im gutted that I have to start again....but not scary in the sense that im scared of what is going on.

Guess I find it hard to be actually scared by horror games/films. ( I have a rubbish imagination :D)

Well yeah, the last game that 'scared' me was fear, and I wasn't scared like the first time I watched Alien as a kid and I couldn't sleep haha. Fear was, as you say, very tense, goose pimples, butterflies - mainly from the suspense. I just didn't get any of this from AI :/

The alien had better watch out, I have developed the power of telekinesis to control several guns at once!

Sums up the industry. He has just got a panel of guys to defend him. 2 of them haven't even played half of the game!

My favourite part was the comment that it is 'too true' to the Alien movies:o

Does the Alien ignore the androids or something? Seems to be a few instances in that video where it walks right past them.

Yeah, he ignores them. It is actually quite funny, and creepy seeing the androids try and talk to it!...at first I didn't like that it ignored them at all, but it is explained in-game (would be a spoiler).
