Aliens : Colonial Marines - FPS ( They're back ! )

For an FPS the game was not to bad, I enjoyed the shooting part. Damn shame about what they did with the story though. I played the patched version about 2 weeks ago.

The story was decent, if you played Stasis Interrupted. It explained the worst WTF plot hole of the main campaign, and it also shown how Alien 3 started.

You are mistaken. The demo/make believe footage is far better in all aspects compared to the turd that gearbox released. No amounts of patching/grain/promises will change that. Glad you felt it was worth £2.50. I downloaded it and still felt ripped off.

You appear to have confused rage with not sharing your opinion.

No definitely seems to be some rage on your part :D

Did one of the developers screw you over in some way?

C'mon "bignev" trolling is for kids, you're not a kid are you?

The game was awful, universally condemned. Rage? No. Dissapointment? Obviously. Low standards may be acceptable to you, the rest of us wanted something more.

See my previous post. I think it's an ok co-op game for £4. As I said i'm surprised that it's so hated because it really isn't that bad. Maybe I was lucky that it's been patched and i've got it late but then part of me thinks people are just jumping on the hate bandwagon.

Same happened with the first AvP game back in 2010 and I went on to buy the game and enjoy it very much. If anyone wants to do a fresh Colonial Marines co op campaign add me on Steam,

Why do people say "oh they're just jumping on the hate bandwagon", does anyone actually know someone that has? I personally haven't met someone that hates this game without actually playing it first.
If I, like you bought this game for £4 and it was released in it's current state with all the patches I'd still be annoyed that it doesn't resemble the game that it was advertised as, but I'd get over it pretty quickly as I only paid £4 so I'd give it a 4/10.
I paid full price for this game when it was first released, yes it didn't look anything remotely like the game they advertised but at the very least I should be given a product that actually worked and didn't resemble (graphically and game play wise) little more than a working beta.
In my eyes this gets the game 2 out of 10, the 2 points being for the fun it gave me for a short while in the multiplayer.

Av only been playing for around 30 minutes and I am loving it!!....... Anyone else loving it?

Love is a strong word, but I definitely liked it a lot. Before playing Aliens, I played Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite and Metro Last Light

While all three are very fine games, the one I had most fun with was...Aliens. I love the film series, and this game let me explore all the locations from films and was just a fine ride from start to finish of its DLC.

I also was against all the haters and i really wanted to play this as being a fan of the series and loved the first 2 AVP Games (atari Jaguar and the 1999 version). Plus this was being made since 2001!! Imagine how long i was waiting for it.Got this one for less than 5 half and oh boy. I enjoyed the start but when i had to fight that big alien with the loader omg. Lets just say i am a person who likes to finish all the games he gets but this one is still after the power loader fight. So many bugs the alien got stuck behind a wall and it was still killing me while i couldn't do anything. Another issue i had was when i loaded a few times the game it wouldn't load any textures and looked like a N64 game haha!.

So many issues. I was playing Crysis 2 as well next to next i suppose thats another reason to feel that this one was bad (not that Crysis 2 is amazing- its just a graphic fest and nothing else, completely disappointed with the plot compared to Crysis 1 and WH). I so wanted to see a nice scenario and heard that Michael Biehn was on board for the DLC but still the game as mentioned before feels like a beta and not a proper release. Studios should never show us something that will look worse when goes live. In the old days when we had cartridges for games there were no patches to download and games played better. But they were simple i will give them that.

I want to finish this but only with a cheat code or something. Can i run a cheat tweak or something for this through steam?

Ever time this topic pops up I give the Stasis Interrupted DLC a plug. I stuck with the mediocre original game for the tourism aspect - lots of iconic locations to fight through, but the DLC was actually really good, great story and acting.

Ill play the DLC then :D. Is this before the normal game campaign?

To VincentHanna a quote from Wikipedia''s page of Aliens: Colonial Marines:

A previous game titled Aliens: Colonial Marines was developed by Check Six Games and was to be published by Fox Interactive and Electronic Arts for the PlayStation 2 in 2001, but was cancelled before its release.

That's the one i meant i was so looking forward to it but got canceled

Dang it. No time to throw away. The back log is growing rapidly. Still haven't started Skyrim, Persona 3, Killzone Mercenaries, and am half way through Borderlands 2 for the Vita and a huge amount of Wii U, PS3 and PC games are in the list as well. I have GTAV on PS3 but i might as well get it for the PC and sell the PS3 one. No time for a crappy aliens game i am afraid. If only i was still at Uni!

I thought it was great personally, so I couldn't disagree with that review any more if I tried. The story actually makes sense on the DLC as its what we've already experienced in the films, mixed with some clever "glue" to bridge aliens to alien 3 especially. It explains the reveal in the original game as well rather well, making that far less of a poor decision than originally thought.

The thing that annoys me with stasis interrupted is that it should have been the main game, with the colonial marines thing tacked on as DLC...
