With the 4k ultrawides not even a year away though I'm more incluned to just wait and be a little more patient then get a 40" 5120x2160 panel.

It's not like the 34" isn't currently satisfying, just the desire for gen 3 QD is tempting :o

Forgive my stupidity, but I have a Samsung G9 Neo, 49" 5120x1440. A smaller monitor = denser pixels? For sim racing I'll still have a wide FOV but also a bit more height?
49" at 1440 pixels high isn't the native resolution for such a size monitor, so yeah a more native/dense PPI on the correct size 40" for the resolution of 5120x2160. The same way that you can get 34" ultrawides that are 2560x1080, but that's not the native res for that size, 3440x1440 is and as such you get the best image clarity and sharpness at the native res for any given size.

Hmm MSI lists VRR flicker fix for the flat 32" model, can't see anything from Dell about it... Does this mean MSI has solved VRR flicker  - Dell's page just says the APril FW fixes soundbar issues....

6. Fixed image flicker issue when VRR is enabled.

I'm still on the fence as I really like flat displays lol.

Still doing research I see. Bwahahahaha.

No way you are waiting a year for the ultrawide version to come out. That is like ages away... :p

Still deciding :p

Doesn't seem to be too much of a drastic change with comparisons like that going back to 16:9 I guess too :p

It really isn't man. You would get used to it in a few weeks and totally forget about it after a couple of months.

Then in the future you can get excited to go ultrawide again

At least it's big lol. I realised I can still do my multi window thing as it's got the extra 400 pixels or so widthm, but now with added height. Realistically should be all good and adjust fairly quickly.

Also means can watch most content full screen now without scaling since most things are 16:9 anyway.

Just will miss 21L9 gaming for a year :o

Can't wait for you to end up switching back to the 34" after a week of not being able to game at 21.9 and your screenshots not looking as good :p

Will be interesting to see what you think though tbf.

I'm more curious to see what 240Hz is like, after 120Hz to 175Hzz it felt like there was no difference, but others have said going from 144 to 360 has a noticeable difference, so does that apply to 240 as well I wonder. Will find out tomorrow.

240Hz, 10-bit QD-OLED, 4K. The holy trinity is finally here

It definitely differs from person to person, I personally noticed the move from 144hz to 240hz and preferred to play at 1080p240hz for any FPS games over 1440p144hz.

I then bought one of the 360hz AW monitors and didn't necessarily feel like I noticed the refresh rate bump - but definitely noticed massive improvements of clarity in motion (but this is all down to the change from an IPS to an OLED monitor).

I've not used anything above 360hz, you always see people describe 480/540hz as like 'looking through a window' - so definitely interested in trying this at some stage!

Or he will like it, stick with it and you will take note and buy one

21.9 is the master race so no chance :p ;) :D

Given you can't notice 175hz benefits, probably won't notice 240hz :p

The main thing though with higher res when using taa/upscaling based tech is that motion clarity is also improved (so you'll be getting the benefit of this too as well as when/if you are hitting 200+ fps), this is why dldsr along with dlss looks cleaner in motion than native or just using dlss and daniel owen shows this well too with his 1080p vs 1440p video.

Has that issue been sorted yet with the aw32 anyway? With not being able to use DLDSR at 10 bit 240hz?
