alienware AW3418DW Availability in the UK?

thanks guys, I'll stop with my 'you had better give me this monitor cheap, or else' line....its not getting me anywhere.
If you can get it for £935 or below I'd snap it if I were you.

Although I think the 3-5 week wait is now sadly quite accurate as very few places have stock and according to one site Dell are quite behind.

Whether this means the quality control is staying near top levels or not is anyones guess! Just hoping mine arrives before my gaming holiday! :D

Bought mine today, got a delivery date of 13/4/18

Hopefully it gets here before then, from what I can gather from the sales guy, they are building them to order.

I ordered mine from Amazon a few weeks ago when they priced dropped it to £918. Also ordered one from Dell at £901 with an e.t.a of 22/03/18. Amazon delivered on Saturday so I cancelled the dell one.

All I can say to the guys waiting is it is worth the wait. I'm very happy with mine.

Strangely my money has been refunded on my order. Not sure if it's the bank or dell. Order is still there.

Gonna talk to the chat this morning.

# Edit #
Apparently my screen is in production and everything is proceeding. Very odd.

anyone got any measurements for the distance between the back of the stand and the actual monitor?
Just wanting to work how close this might be as at the back of my desk there's a wall.

Got one for 990 - which wasnt an amazing deal, but tbh was more annoying spending ages trying to get different prices.

Delivery due 9th April too. Ugh.

Half tempted to cancel still, but somewhat reluctant to buy the same replacement Acer Predator XB271HU,and otherwise struggling for credible alternative.

Quote £1001

Keep trying I think. Cant pay that when I know people have had it for less. Maybe availability is keeping the price/quote high ?

They seemedm to want various details from me, ala postcode email etc, to generate the quote - so im not sure if theres some sort of categorisation going on.

The more they sell the more reluctant they would give discounts.

Its a strategy the Dell sales rep always use for new products, they drop prices for early sales and then gradually rise the prices they offer when a certain amount of sales were made.

I'd say if you get a decent enough price then just go for it, simply because one might not get a discount at all given the past experience.

E.g. the 27" G-sync monitor, started off cheap and now the price is up, partly due to Brexit and inflation, but certainly due to popularity of the monitor as well.

They asked me the same. I told them here's no need to data mine me for a price.

And the information needed were to create a customer account for them to give you a order reference / custom invoice, which we all do when we make a sale.

If a company want to data mine an individual, there is no need to ask.

Were not at the point of making a sale. Were asking for a quote.

Have we to give our switch details to the member of staff at a shop if we ask for the price of something with no price tag on it ? Or should we continue to do it at point of sale ?
