Agreed, with every passing season Rooney's technical ability seems to get worse but his finishing improves at more or less the same rate so it's not all bad.

Arsenal ramping up interest in Yann M'Vila, £17mill though and at that sort of price tag, i will be surprised if Wenger goes for him as we are known for buying cheap:p. Also looks like we might be interested in Junior Hoilett as well, hes available on a free.

Also some more Arsenal news, looks like Steve Bould will be the Arsenal number 2 as Pat Rice is set to retire at the end of the season. Lets hope he instills some defensive quality into our side:p

He'll never match his accomplishments of his debut.

I have no idea how we have managed to make him less effective from all areas of the pitch since that moment.

I dont know if he just shoots less from outside of the box, or whether they are just getting blocked more. But rarely do you see the Rooney wondergoal from 25 yards these days.
 
Maybe its just that in 8 years in the EPL in general defenses have got better, so its a lot harder for any given player to get a "wonder goal" - let alone from distance.

Thats without even considering the fact that most teams want to park the bus when playing Utd (or any other top team) so the space required for a wonder goal is even less likely to be found (I suppose it could be argued that "wonder goal"'s require less space in general, maybe thats another discussion lol)

Rooney's bicycle kick against City (admttedly last season) was just voted best goal, rightly or wrongly, of the first 20 years of the EPL - so does it matter, from what distance he does a wonder goal?

There is no one in the EPL / pretty much the world that bangs in goals consistently from 30 yards. Ronaldo is the closest you will get. The power, placement and luck you need to stop a world class keeper saving anything from 30 yards is crazy.
 
Quite a few different websites (not Twitter) are reporting that Kagawa has said something along the lines of: “May 12 will be my last game for Dortmund and then I will start a new chapter with United.”

Could it already be wrapped up? Hope so!
 
I've only seen him play three times, two in the Champions League and a Bundesliga match and he didn't look anything out of this world, but he has been having a good couple of seasons and I imagine any ounce of creativity in the midfield will benefit United and their "industrial" approach of recent seasons. :p

Is there any reason why he hasn't signed an extension though?

I have to ask what all the fuss is about with him. Gervinho outscored and outassisted him in the same team last season and Gervinho has hardly been a success. Also I don't like the way Hazard has been pimping himself out to virtually every decent team, I don't think I'd want a player like that in my club.

That was 'reported' by a twitter account with four tweets, both the Japanese TV company that the quote was allegedly said to and Kagawa have denied saying it.

ESPN reported it and then took it down.

Not sure on that one, but Canal+ who Hazard supposedly said that to don't have that written in their version of the interview. And again, ESPN (and the mirror) seem to be the only people going with it. Might be true, but I'd take it with a pinch of salt.

There's a huge difference with the way RVP has conducted himself and the way Hazard has though. RVP has actually said at the end of the season he will discuss a new contract, he probably wants to see if we qualify for the Champions League which is fair enough. He certainly hasn't been whoring himself around saying he looks good in X colour or he'd love to play for Y team.
 
Been hearing rumours that Fergie is also having a look at Vertonghen...so lets see first VDV who seems to be in charge of Spurs is saying hes definitely comig to spurs, then we have Arsenal who are linked with them and now Fergie stating his interest.

So out of those 3, i would be surprised if Vertonghen goes to Spurs...they havent secured CL footie so may well be in the Europa league next season whereas Arsenal and Utd have more or less secured CL footie for next season. Well Utd have and Arsenal??..well depends on how we do against WBA at the weekend.

You weren't talking about Hazard in the post I quoted you were talking about Kagawa :p

+1...at first when i heard wew were being linked with Hazard i was like :D but now with the way hes conducting himself, im more like :/....City are more than welcome to him, i just hope he ends up being a tremendous flop at City:p

Plus your right about Gervinho, he out played him a couple of seasons ago and now that hes with us, hes pretty useless lol. Goes to show that the french league is a pile of stinking dog poo, seems like the players there do well but when they head off to other tougher leagues they dont do so well.

I dont think Arsenal need another 'Nasri' in the making in our squad:p...

Yep I haven't even seen him play and I dislike him already, he might be a handy player but his attitude over the past couple of transfer windows has absolutely stunk.
