Levy stop being a tight wad and pay the asking price
MW
He's not being a tight wad, look at other Porto players in the past decade that went for 15mil to 40mil and the wages they end up on. Spurs can't in any way afford 100k+ a week, and certainly not 150k + a week. Moutinho is expecting a relatively big move to a top 4 club basically and if its Spurs this year or Real/City/Chelsea/whoever next year he wants a top wage that a 25mil+ transfer pretty much dictates these days.
THis is another reason why it was a waste going after all these 20-30mil strikers/midfielders they've tried to get for the past 3 years. Adebayor is a fluke because the selling club was desparate to get shot of him and subsidised those wages, fact is a 20-25mil and up player means a wage of 100k a week minimum, often significantly more, Spurs aren't even close to able to offer that kind of wage. Why they wasted half a second going after him I don't know, appease the manager, make a public show of it, no idea.
They should have been after a realistic target from day one, however AVB doesn't strike me as a very realistic manager hence his want to buy in a specific player without considering anyone else really.
