Amazon delivered to a neighbour that doesn't exist

Some of the courier's Amazon use are awful.

I had two parcels "delivered" in the morning last week, came home to find the the below. Which is open to the street.

As much as you're in the right here, I think you need to be a little more patient. Their investigation must surely conclude that the number they delivered it to doesn't exist and therefore you haven't received the parcel. There is no other result...

and I thought it was bad when they delivered next door thinking that was the actual house. Even took a picture of it on the wrong doorstep. Literally watched them doing it too (about 3 times now) :D

Do you have anywhere to store them other than there?
Neighbours to take it?

Tbh, I find it odd that people would order things to be delivered when they aren't in, I just get all mine sent to my work.

Hard when you know some robbing **** or unknown neighbour has your goods with seemingly no quick response time.

Police will not give me any help or ref number as 87 does not exist.

I am completely in the dark the only resolution is charge back or amazon to come through

Can you not obtain a crime report number like at all? Just say report it as a potential courier theft? get a ref number then give that to amazon.

Just shows you've reported something. Explain to police you just need something / anything as some proof you've done something. Just to tick boxes and see where to go from there.

Edit: I'm pretty certain you will get this resolved though op. I'll eat my shoe if not. Either a replacement or a refund as long as you push through and point out that house does not exist etc.
Speak to a manager blah blah the usual.

Next step is then to push the issue with Amazon.

You will probably need to phone a couple times and get through to someone competent and if not try and speak to a manager. Explain the situation in full (Along with fact you contacted the police) and tell them to open an internal investigation which shouldn't take long to see.... oh parcel says delivered to a house THAT DOES NOT EXIST. Lemons.

I appreciate that, but the address just doesn't exist so unless they want to accept that a house popped out of nowhere when they delivered it, they're very clearly at fault.

I think you'll be ok. I've always found that speaking to Amazon on the phone ended in a resolution. You might have to do it a few times, but in the end you get your stuff and I've received gift cards and free prime from them a couple of times.

Spoke to a more understanding person for the 4th time on the phone told her info regarding police not going to get involved said they would open up a new investigation even though the first one was a joke

Let's see what happens

Charge back still being handled by Halifax takes around two weeks sometimes so if anything happens in mean time I will retract it

We've got a secure location noted on the delivery instructions, they seem to just prefer to throw them over the fence/leave them on the street though.

Police report and they will then refund you/ship a replacement.

It's now standard procedure from them to deter fraudsters.

Strangely if they haven't delivered, then the police report should be coming from them or the delivery company, not the customer who remains waiting for goods surely?
Until delivery is made, it is their side, not his, even if they claim to have delivered, to a non-existent address.
