Amazon Fire TV

I just wish this had Now TV, 4OD, ITV Player...

If you have Kodi on the Fire TV, you can then add ITV Player onto it. I remember that 4OD was on Kodi too but I haven't seen it recently. So maybe it's no longer compatible?? No idea. But I will check eventually.

Yes, but having to open Kodi to then open the ITV plugin is just a pain.

This bit intrigues me, I've seen IPTV that is subscription based.

Anyone have any more information on this, channels etc?

I'd be tempted to get one to replace having to run the inbuilt rubbish they call smart share on my LG.

The channels you get using IPTV Stalker depends on the m3u file or url you use, the link I posted a few weeks back gives you 685 channels, this is all the sky movies and sports, lots of US channels, about 240 in total, the rest are foreign.

Sometimes a channel wont load and can take a few tried to get it to, but most work first time, though the quality is not the same on every channel, some are very clear and some can be a bit meh... but for free, Im happy enough, between IPTV Stalker and IVue TV Guide... and filmon... lots of choice.

Will try the refund method! Makes sense.

Edit - refunded the difference! very nice of them :D May even have got one for £49, as think they have given me £20 back, but I used the £10 voucher off on Monday! So may have done very well out of this :D Just trying to figure out where it's been refunded to, as I paid with gift cards.

Just doing a bit of background reading before it turns up. I use a Logitech Harmony One, but appears not compatible, bit of googling suggests that the Ortek remote could be the thing to get to pair it up.

I already have the PS3 adapter logitech make, but presume this isn't compatible either.

Just a bump on this, spotted the Flirc too.

I know that the fire tv box is better spec than the Roku 3, but for someone who isn't a prime instant video subscriber wouldn't the Roku 3 be the better choice?

The Roku supports BBC iPlayer, ITV, All4, Demand 5, Now TV and Netflix... this more than fire tv!

No Kodi on the Roku 3 to my knowledge.

Kore for android makes a excellent remote for kodi from your phone. Been using that more than the fire tv's remote.

Slowly starting to get my FireTV set up, not had much time this week, sideloaded XBMC and BT Sport (although had an out of date version) so trying to find the latest to see if I can get this to work properly. Box seems very good so far, now I have got the DTS working using XBMC inside Plex. But definitely needs some more fine tuning!

BTSport almost latest app working, quality is pretty impressive for the stream, although need a mouse, which will be annoying if I want to use my Harmony remote as well using Flirc.

just picked one of these up, do i need prime to really benefit though? i have netflix and spotify premium so thats cool and use Plex via a friends shared library, what else should i be setting up as say must have apps?

prime has some good stuff on it but most of my watching is on netflix. i would say prime isnt really needed. it's a bit of a mess as well, the content is all over the place. Prime still has a free 30 day trial doesn't it? not much to lose :)

Kodi is a open source third party media center application available on multiple platforms, has extensive support for a lot of add on's that install and enable a lot of functionality such as media streaming, iptv and much more.

It is highly configurable and well worth looking at.
