Amazon Fire TV

Kodi is a open source third party media center application available on multiple platforms, has extensive support for a lot of add on's that install and enable a lot of functionality such as media streaming, iptv and much more.

It is highly configurable and well worth looking at.

Sounds handy! Whats iptv? Sorry new to all this!

Thanks!

My Fire Stick will be arriving this week, is there a "idiots guide" knocking about for help with installing Kodi and all related apps so I can watch live sports, tv and movies ?

Check out the TV Addons website, that covers the install in really easy steps.

As mentioned download TVMC instead of Kodi. It's Kodi with all the extra bits already set up :)

Will do, thanks.

Yeah. Not sure about Sports Devil but there's an app called Phoenix TV which allows viewing of live sport. I was really impressed with it over the weekend.

Not sure if this is descending into illegal talk though so may be moderated out.

Yeah, I've edited my post, thanks anyway.

I've got the stick and the TV and unless your router is in the same room I'd go for the TV every time and use ethernet.

It's just so much more slicker and responsive.

You can also use USB storage and optical out.

It's worth paying extra for the tv over the stick especially if your using KODI, streams are laggy and buffering all the time on the stick.

Oh god, don't say that after I've ordered the stick !!! :(

I'm able to stream NFL Gamepass in HD wireless, do you think the Fire Stick will still have issues or ... ?

i dont have any buffering issues. I have an asus router on on the opposite side of the house and mine is just fine :)

That's good to know. Mine is just the standard Sky Fibre router and although it is downstairs, my t.v is directly above it which helps.

I'm up in a loft conversion with the router on the ground floor and have no issues using my stick on the Wireless, no buffering and HD all round.

I would highly suggest genesis plug in paired with a service (free) called trakt, link the trakt account to genesis, set kodi to show the genesis lists as librarys in kodi then manage your library on trakt.tv.

Extremely stream lined with kodi and I cant fault it.
