Right got my fire tv set up and sideloaded.

But I am struggling to select things in apps. Using the control I can move upa nd down pages but cant select say a movie in a lot of sites.

Does this mean I need a wireless mouse or trackpad to get full use out of it or have I done something stupid?

Sounds like you've done something stupid

Can you select movies etc in regular apps?

Try downloading the Fire App for your phone and seeing if that works.

Yeah works fine with the apps built into the fire tv, works okay with some movie sideloaded apps but not all.

Take popcorn. I can more around, select options, search etc but i can not then select the item itself. It just always has a whole row selected.

You would probably be better off going into the Applications section and uninstalling TVMC.

would it be there though? as it was installed from my PC in to the amazon box in a back end way over the network, then used a random app from the store to launch it. ill check, thanks!

Slowly but surely getting used to this now.

Managed to get Flirc set up last night, so I can use my Harmony One with the Fire TV, works pretty well, but needs some adjustment to the input speeds.

How do I go about adding the BT Sport App to the main page, as I'm having to open it from applications due to it being sideloaded.

Really wish Plex would output DTS properly, find it annoying that it goes to Kodi and can't then pause it and resume on another device.

I have the same problem using the FireTV stick. I think the problem lies with these apps were designed for touch screen.

Wondering which one I should buy, The stick or the TV? I don't think I would be playing the Casual games on it, just for HD streaming Netflix etc.

I'd always go for the TV. Have both at home but if I expand anywhere it'll always be the TV for me.

Just a slicker experience.

Can anyone help? I bought my mother in law a TV box and everything worked perfectly at my house.

Went to set it up for her but TVMC showed nothing. All I can think is it's a BT issues. Although my mum is with BT and has no issues. A little bit stuck :/

How well does Kodi run on the Fire TV box?

I'm looking to set something up for my dad so he can play his audio collection through his TV and I know that you can side-load Kodin onto the Fire TV.

I guess my question is, can you use all the available skins for Kodi (ie. get the full functionality) or is it a very "cut-down" experience? (I tried putting Plex on his Now TV box and while it worked, you didn't get the "eye-candy" that Kodi gives you!)

Kodi is just fine on the Fire. I run it and play my ripped blu-rays at full HD quality with no issues (served from a HP microserver acting as a NAS box over wired connection). Its an identical experience to Kodi running on my main watercooled PC box that cost 20 times at much

I don't use custom skins though - and this is the Fire TV box, not the stick.

Is there any reason you don't use the custom skins? Any idea which skin is the "standard" one on the Fire TV version of Kodi? (I tend to use Aeon Nox as it's nice and simple yet very customizable!)

For some reason my AFTV Plex has stopped showing any media on the main page, can search and find everything, but can't see it by default, any ideas?

Apathy mostly. Not really investigated them much and perfectly happy with the default kodi appearance.

So had some issues over the weekend with the above and not being able to play any video files thru plex, kodi, netflix, done a complete rebuild on my aftv and seems to have resolved all the issues. Frustrating, but glad it's resolved.

I wish invading for one from the bay,I have kodi installed on my fire bit nothing else,I don't have the patience to do anything else,it's easier to get one with everything installed in my eyes.
