No need at all for the firetv when you have a smart tv.

3rd row down on the left - you really can't miss it. Replace TVMC (oh the shame) with installing a decent build and i'd agree with SGF but the tvaddons stuff is not really that great, you'll be amazed how much more you're missing out on if you broaden your horizons a little.

CONNECT.
Download TVMC (this is Kodi with extras)
Click on the button that says INSTALL APK
Choose TVMC
Wait until it is installed.
Go and try it out of your Fire Stick SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS

Then
Click on the button that says FIRESTARTER
Wait until it's installed
Go to Fire Stick and open it up from SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS

Set it up so a double home click starts TVMC.

I've got all my four devices opening TVMC on a double click and opening Firestarter on a single click.
A single click will show all your APPS you've loaded and you can also get to the Home screen if you want.

The only downside to not having the FireTV over your Smart TV is you won't have Kodi on it.

Mine also has it, but it's slower and clunkier than the FireTV, it does the same things just I think the FIreTV does it better.

I had a Roku 3 before I got the 4k Fire TV and that did it better too.

Kodi isn't the only way to stream media, yeah I understand you can install packages for TV shows and movies, but if it's for home streaming from Plex or a NAS, then the firetv is overkill.

It is a great box though and worth it if you want to extend your streaming services beyond home network sharing.

To be honest I haven't used the extra bits of TVMC but I've messed a bit.

Does anyone know when we'll be getting All 4? I asked them but they basically said they don't divulge future plans to the public :rolleyes:

There's a few things I want to watch on catchup but my god I really can't be bothered to swap over to my AppleTV and use hideous airplay from my other phone

I had the same issue, what size TV are you using? I know it's strange but on a 32" mine played fine, on my 50" I had stuttering on every video and TV show I tried to play. Couldn't find a fix for it so I sold it on.

It's a 40" Samsung, UE6400 I believe.

Nope, it's a vanilla install of Kodi playing media from my NAS.

I've been all over it and can't find an ADD SOURCE or similar.

Not sure if this will help but if you click on maintainance it brings up a system settings menu

Has anyone had both the stick and the box? Finding the stick a bit slow/laggy and heard the box was supposed to be better

Should I be able to install this on a FireTv Stick I bought from Amazon?

I found a video on how to do it, but the install just hangs.
