Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

Same here. Truth is that Amazon CS are very good. Sometimes you have to hassle them, but they usually come up trumps. And that's worth it's weight in gold.
Agreed. I have had a few issues with products were they have said just keep the item and then they have refunded me with no need to return. Including when I ordered a DVD by mistake I already owned. They said keep it and did a refund so I just gave it my sister.

Cancelled my Prime when they started putting ads in programmes,. Can't say I've missed it, probably wasted less money on things I didn't really need. Also the customer service started to get really bad.

had my first non delivery yesterday :O

ordered a robot hoover to the house and some other stuff to an amazon locker.

It literally took the guy 45minutes to get from 9th in queue to delivering the robot.

I thought he was taking a break every 3 parcels but seems he was just absolutely useless

I bet it was the same van delivering to the amazon locker.....

it was supposed to be delivered by 10pm, then at 10pm it said its still coming.... then at 11pm it said rescheduled for delivery by the 11th...

also when giving the driver the code... I'm like "I've got a code for you"
he mumbles and I said what?
he's like "whats the code"
I give the code then he has the cheek to say "we got their eventually"

erm I was waiting fir your to be ready to input the code pal! then I read it off as six, triple 3, eleven.
you can't get better than that...

The Amazon Prime advert does my head in. I'm supposed to believe a young girls, in a flat, most probably paying sky high rent gets annoyed by her concrete Jungle so she buys seemingly 10/20 ceramic pots @ about £20 a piece and about £1000 worth of plants.

Right.

Anyone know how subscribe and save works? I subscribed to a item I want every month, but then saw the price increased nearly 2x on the site so cancelled it as I assume I pay the current price and not the one I subscribed at. Is that correct? If so, seems like a con...

You pay whatever the current price is, with a reduction. So, yes, the price can change. However, if it went up by that much, you are certainly entitled for a refund or return.

Subscribe and Save is not perfect. But the entire store has it's problems. I have noticed that some sellers will wait until they get some positive reviews then significantly increase the price. You do need to keep an eye on things.

You pay whatever the price is when the order gets auto created for the next delivery.

Trouble is, it's very unpredictable as to when this will be.

I tend to just micro manage subscribe and save a few days before the cut off each month. Often I find that the order has been created when the price was higher so I just cancel it and subscribe again.

It's a pain, but the savings can be big. Got 15% off with subscribe and save and another 15% (off the full price) off with prime buy 4 and get 15% off on a few things (kitchen towel/bog roll). Made them mega cheap compared to supermarkets.

It's a faff but when you combine product vouchers and deals with the 15% off you can get things mega cheap sometimes.

Thanks, that was what I thought. Price went from £30, to £50 at about the time it was going to be posted, so I cancelled it. Now it is back to £30 I ordered it again but not on a subscription. Not sure I trust it to not do that again and having to remember to keep an eye on it rather then just order as I get low seems to be easier.

Yeh, that's the downside. You do have to keep an eye on things to check you haven't been fleeced by the timing of when they put the order through.

It would be nice if we lived in a world where prices weren't dictated by algorithms and fluctuated almost daily (and sometimes by a lot!).

I liked using amazon prime for a time, but I considered the package as a whole, like including the video side of things, overtime it became clear that the offerings on amazon video were quite poor, and the app itself sucked, then they introduced ads, that tipped me to cancel. £95 + £35 to remove ads! then you the music, you have to pay extra for the better unlimited service which offers better quality audio. I think their model structure is very messy, they could really do with creating a few different plans that include everything in one like no ads, better music plan. Cost would be higher though.
I try to avoid using Amazon as much as possible now, often stuff is cheaper elsewhere anyway.

Another thing that is weirdly inconstant is the way they display prices if you purchase more than one of the same item. I get Whiskas on there and they are about £11 a pack and I buy two packs. On the Subscribe and Save page, Sometimes they will display the price as total - £22, sometimes individual - £11. They always get the final bill right, but the inconsistency is puzzling and disturbing.

Yeah I think they should automatically put the subscription on hold requiring approval to keep going on upward price movements. Maybe they already do this and its how he noticed?

They do generally send you an email a good few days in advance telling you what your next delivery will cost and showing you what your last one cost to allow you time to skip it.

Cancelled Prime last night. We stopped watching Prime when they started putting adverts on there. The only thing we've watched since then is Clarksons Farm and I think when ever there's a new series, I'll resub again just to watch it and then cancel.

Delivery wise, I don't order much from Amazon any more so won't be missing out.
