Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

I paid for ad-free for a month out of curiosity.
What I wasn't expecting was for all the freevee content to disappear. I can see the logic, but that's a lot of content gone so it's kinda like the paid service is worse.
A consequence of that is the percentage of content which requires additional payment is increased. I think it's the same amount of stuff, it just feels like there's more.
oh...

Anyone else managed to blag prime student?

I signed up for it last year just to see if it would go through, it's still active and it costs peanuts. They never did any checks to verify I'm a student.

Amazon still using scammy tactics. I bought a projector for the kids a week back for £165 but currently its on Black Friday Deal at £199 lol
I've said this before but if you use Keepa you can look at historical prices so you don't get caught out by things like that.

Yes I installed Keepa but that graph that gets added in the page you are looking at has not tracked the 165 price its showing as 199 being the lowest price

Ordered a cheap Motorola phone and it had delivered to my local Amazon locker. Went to collect the package from the locker this afternoon, and found an empty packaging envelope which had been ripped open in the slot. The delivery driver obviously hadn't noticed the torn packaging, the fact that his package didn't weigh .85kg or that the packaging was clearly empty.

Went back home, took some pictures of my torn packaging, logged onto Amazon support, uploaded photos and a replacement has now been issued, took under 3 minutes on chat to get it sorted out. Credit to Amazon support for dealing with the matter so quickly.

Fraud at Amazon must be happening at a horrendous rate, they really need to improve the packaging and make it more difficult to tamper with.

Got 30 day free prime for all my Christmas nonsense, as usual.

That xray thing on prime viewer is extremely annoying, and I can't turn it off.

Which idiot decided that should be the default option?

Well this is a first for me. Amazon driver delivered something for me and it wasn't until I got the box in the house that I realised one side of the box was soaking wet. Judging by the smell, somebody isn't going to be happy with their bottle of whisky when it's delivered.

Bet nothing beats the Amazon bought, delivered by Royal Fail that managed to deliver it to a similar sounding named road with a postcode that is not even close to where it should have gone.

I guess post person must have taken a few extra puffs on that pipe in the morning and backs up my dread when I get the email telling me Royal Fail will be making an attempt to find my address sometime soonish...

I've bought quite a bit this month, but interestingly, I've bought none of it from Amazon as I've found cheaper elsewhere.

A coffee machine for my fiancé for Christmas, Sage were doing the same offer on their direct to consumer website and I had a work perk discount. Plus two free bags of coffee.

A Shark Power Detect cordless vacuum cleaner, they had a black Friday deal on their direct to consumer website and a 25% TCB offer.

A Boox Note Air 2 Plus - cheaper brand new on eBay with a code.

You will probably be able to renew it for a couple of years, then they will tell you that the student time limit has been reached and your account is no longer eligible.

Never having had prime ... for first time ever I forgot to select saver delivery on my >£35 order and got stung for £4.99 on default standard delivery,
is there some trick to make saver delivery your default ?
( thought I might remove default payment selection to remind myself to double check at checkout, but that might mess up Subscribe&save orders, which I use most months.)

why can't you add arbitrary purchases (<£35) into your subscribe and save order ?

Another DPD delivery another skipped delivery.

Its the usual instead of saying "we missed you", instead status changes from your next delivery to sorry we running late and gps stops updating. I know why they do it as I am in a bad spot for parking, but DPD is the only company that does it consistently.

I'm getting hacked off with returns now. Increasingly the only way to return is to use QR code return where you don't print your own label at home. Problem is it never works. I go to my local Evri shop and their printer is rarely working anyway but when it does work, I just get "the QR code was not recognised". Fail. I go to my local Royal mail post office and they don't even have the facility to do QR code amazon returns. They even have a printed sign up saying they don't do them. I mean ffs. There is a new one that has popped up now where I can do it at a Shell garage or a Morrisons. I just cba with this. I just want to print a label myself, go to post office and hand it over.
I try speaking to an agent and they used to be able to override it and get it to prompt me to print a label, but apparently now they can't do this and I have to use QR code return.
