Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

Considering you pay the same for Amazon/Netflix but get more on Netflix

Unless you are paying purely for the video content the Prime subscription gets a range of benefits outside of the video aspect as well though. Can't say I'm that gone on the content libraries for either mind - Netflix has more stuff but a lot of the original content is barely more than the same show copy and pasted with some slight changes :s

This is what put me off I think. Considering you pay the same for Amazon/Netflix but get more on Netflix, without paying extra, I think its better value for money.

To be fair, you get a lot more with Amazon. Next day & same day delivery, Prime Video, Prime Music, Twitch Prime, Prime Reading, Amazon First Reads, Prime Photo, plus Prime-exclusive offers. The services aren't really equivalent.

Prime as a video service isn't very good value for money. But the more services you use, the better it starts to look.

I just sub to all 3; Netflix, Prime, and NowTV. Not only is it cheaper than Sky, it's barely more expensive than a TV license if you grab NowTV on offer (I'm paying about £230/year for the lot, but that includes the Cinema pass for Now).

It's really made me question the value offered by the TV license to be honest.

The 5GB of cloud storage (plus additional photo storage) can be useful as well - though would be nice if it was 10-15GB or so and/or the options for additional storage were a bit better sizes/price.

Why? There's some good stuff on there.

Vikings
Into the Badlands
Sneaky Pete
Black Sails
Mr Robot
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel
Patriot
Bosch
Goliath
Mozart in the Jungle
Comrade Detective
The Man in the High Castle
American Gods

they all inclusive? a fair amount of amazon content has a price to watch even if prime subscriber.

Yep. Most of them are Prime Originals (i.e. Amazon's own content). The rest are exclusive to Prime. The vast majority are well rated (8+ on IMDB).

I haven't watched all of them. Currently finishing off S5 of Vikings. Will probably move on to Sneaky Pete after as it's had rather rave reviews.

The quality of Amazon's own content is pretty good TBH. Not as many filler shows as Netflix.

Netflix originals were very good at the start, but then they turned into NBC, they cancelled the high budget stuff and went for quantity vs quality (in your words fillers), its kinda sad.

There is the expanse I plan to watch but I will keep this list handy for after that, thanks.

Ordered an item Sunday morning. Came. Sunday evening. Very impressed living in Stamford Lincolnshire!

Obviously was available at Peterborough depot!

Well I love them, especially at the moment, always next day delivery and particularly excelled themselves getting me a product for Xmas that originally said 27th land today.

Another cracking delivery from Amazon, ordered a book for delivery today, said it was out for delivery, then saw it was delayed, and might be delivered tomorrow, or Saturday. Just went on the website again to look at something and see that the parcel was 'handed to the resident'
Errr no it wasn't, so on the a hunch I checked outside and they've just left the package propped up against the front door in full view. No knock on the door, just dump and run.
Suppose I should be grateful it wasn't raining.

I ordered a clock (Prime) as a Christmas present, was supposed ('guaranteed') to be delivered on the 24th via RM. Unfortunately it was still in Scotland on the 24th, then on 26th showed as 'delayed' and expected to come by the 31st!

I went in Live chat on 26th, and was told the parcel was 'lost' and they issued me a full refund, as well as a months free Prime extension. On 27th the clock surprisingly arrived. Free item yes please. Won't be telling them a thing as it's the least I deserve after I didn't get it in time.

Amazon support are weird.

I had a subscribe and save setup for some vitamins and stuff. Noticed they're doing a 3 for 2 promo on vitamins so i tried to cancel the subscribe and save only to be told it was too late as already being processed.

The stuff came on Friday and i've just been on chat asking how to return it and they're just refunding me with no need to return it and offered a £3 credit for the inconvenience.

I've had this sometimes for small items where it's more costly to return than the item is worth, but this is all worth about £40! There was also no inconvenience at all!

I have to say I've been a prime member almost from the day it started and have never had any of the problems that people in this thread talk about. Maybe it is just down to geographic region and my delivery service around here is just better?

Defo this. It's down to the people that deliver that area.

We're getting more deliveries that give you up to the minute delivery too .. Driver is 5 stops away..

For us in South Cheshire it is fantastic service and the guys that deliver are great.

Indeed, I seem to be getting my free super saver items (1-2 days for most delivery) far faster than people are getting there prime ones in here.

So you get a hour delivery slot in the morning when its loaded on the van?

I dont believe thats area dependent. But a company wide policy.

Its a bit hit or miss. I got an email saying it would be delivered between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. - on a sunday morning! In the event it arrived sometime during the afternoon when I was out as it was lying on the doormat in front of the flat next to a cycle someone had parked infront of it...

interesting, I have never had a delivery shot at 3 hours, its usually 15 hours now. 7am to 10pm. Unless I manage to get same day delivery.
