Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

My missing items might be "lost" according to the website. There's also a Royal Mail tracking number, which says the items are out for delivery... yesterday. Hopped on live chat, the agent "spoke to the courier". Apparently they're out for delivery today. Do Royal Mail do delivery on Sundays? I feel like I'm being spun a yarn. Can see some last minute Christmas panic-buying happening tomorrow...

your original post didn't say when you made first order ... but seems to be jit xmas buying - PPPPP ?

New to me - After comment in cinema forum, seems I could take a one month prime trial every-year ( and chain-watch that years recommended titles ?)

Beginning of the month. The order I'm waiting on was ordered Monday, and the majority of it is replacement items for the first three orders.

TBH I don't really have an issue with Amazon not being able to deliver stuff so close to Christmas if, like most retailers, they set that expectation at the point of ordering. But they don't. For the stuff I ordered, they were still advertising next day delivery with Prime until this morning. I placed the order on Monday, with Saturday as the nominated day for delivery. Officially, today is the last day for Prime orders, except for same day and Prime Now areas, which can place orders tomorrow for delivery tomorrow.

I suspect I won't be resubscribing to Prime. Last Christmas was ridiculous with items just disappearing during transit (stolen I assume) and this year next day delivery seems to mean anything from 1 day to 'after Christmas'
The service is certainly not what it was. Even complaining about late deliveries doesn't seem to get you anywhere now, at least before you might get an extra month of prime, now it's just 'yes, sorry about that'

Agreed, I think this is whats frustrating, at one point amazon was showing everyone else how it can be done, now its done a 180.

I know what it says but you would think the latest by time would be a bit earlier if the driver is only 5 stops away :)

Arriving today by 9 PMArriving soon! The driver is only 1 stop away

and now

Arriving today by 9 PMAlmost there! The driver is on the way to you!

He is almost here, but might not make it until 9pm :)

When I complained saying that the delivery wasn't even attempted even though they said it had been, they weren't particularly interested, just kept pointing out to me that it would come the following day.

I got a free 30 day trial so thought I'd try Prime Video. What a load of tosh...back to netflix i go lol

Why? There's some good stuff on there.

Vikings
Into the Badlands
Sneaky Pete
Black Sails
Mr Robot
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel
Patriot
Bosch
Goliath
Mozart in the Jungle
Comrade Detective
The Man in the High Castle
American Gods

Some decent movies as well (along with a lot of not so decent ones).

I just didn't feel it gave me as much as Netflix does. Those series aren't really my thing to be honest so my preference to Netflix is based on the range of films I'd watch without having to think (for example), or those I can watch with my son when I have him. Just doesn't seem worth having, personally.

Watched the tracking yesterday for a parcel I wasn’t waiting on. One stop away. He was sitting in my street (there’s a fair few flats) for a while and I was waiting patiently. Phone pings, email saying delivery couldn’t be completed as there was no answer. No buzz, no phone call, nothing. I run down the stairs and flag down a random white van. He has My parcel and clearly hasn’t got out the van.
At least I got my books but what a joke.

I've just added a stack more in an edit. But if it's well known family films that you're after then yeah, it's not great.

Theres some brilliant films on there. They just tend not to be huge blockbusters. There's a lot of award-winning, critically acclaimed, and cult films on Prime.

It doesn't really help that Amazon's Prime Video UI is awful, and puts way too much emphasis on paid content over subscription content. Most of the time I resort to the web for recommendations and then just use search.

They seem to have changed the UI now so the paid stuff is mixed up with the subscription stuff. As far as I'm concerned I've already paid so it's taking the **** to ask even more just to watch (quite often) an old film.

There's still the "Included with Prime" tab. But it's not up to Netflix, or even NowTV standards for ease of use.

The addition of "channels" is really taking the mick. Around £4.99/month per channel. I can see streaming TV heading this way though; every content owner wants a bigger slice of the action. I imagine it's probably more profitable to charge the customers that really want your content a fiver a month, than take whatever per-view kickback Netflix etc give.

I'm on Student Prime, so as much as I complain, I am highly unlikely to cancel. It's definitely worth £3.99/month.
