Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

I was going to start a new thread about how have RING taken my money when my attached card is an old one?
They asked me to update my card before Dec 26th but today have taken money off me !!!
I wanted it to expire because hopefully I'm having a Reolink Doorbell when released.
So I did a bit of digging into my Accounts Settings on RING and found this.
The buggers.

Oh! So you are dmpoole! You sneaky thing! I now know which old user you are.

He only time I was seriously let down by Amazon was a OnePlus phone, it was soon to be released plus model, they simply didn't dispatch it. Cancelled, reordered, they did it again. Was very odd, didn't help when chatrooms said it may still arrive when it clearly wasn't. Cancelled second time as dates no longer made sense on app when they had already passed. Got it in person.

So yesterday I needed something important for today and it said next day delivery.
It has just updated to tomorrow :(

Yup happened to me a few times over the past couple of weeks. Cancelled my prime membership as a result. Service is going downhill and not sure whether value for money anymore with the changes to music streaming

So amazon are stopping amazon smile.

That's a bit of a **** move.
I know it's trivial but it will make me use amazon even less than I do now. And really, I don't use amazon anywhere near as much as I did in 2018.

But yes, quite a big PR one that

Was just going to post about that - the wording I find kind of horrid as they blame not having the impact they wanted it to - but they are in charge of a lot of how it works and how much is donated and/or anything extra around that so a lot of how much of an impact it has is in their hands.

Quite disappointed about that as while not a huge amount the charity I'd chosen was getting a not insignificant amount from it and nearly 20% of that came from my shopping - they don't have any kind of organised way to donate more directly - their own fundraising is sporadic and often awkward payment methods wise which I can't be bothered with.

Yeah the wording was obviously aimed to mitigate backlash. We all know it's down to profits. Just say its because of that.

The charity I gave to got quite a small total too. Its those little charities that will lose the most.

Amazon are rubbish.

I don't often use them, occasionally for bottles of bourbon whiskey.

Ordered a scope from a seller, delivery in 3 weeks or whatever, fine.

Doesn't turn up, it says wait until the 1st Feb then you can get a refund.

Logon today, expecting some button that says refund, no, now I have the message the seller and ask them for a refund.....

What's more annoying is a took out accidental damage cover (given the item) ok only £5, but that kicks in when the item is dispatched, not received so, whats the guessing it will now be hassle to get anything back on that, assuming this thing never turns up.

I use eBay all the time, for years, and simply don't have these issues.

This exact example is literally why I very rarely buy anything from Amazon.

Ive always had a decent experience with Amazon when Ive needed a refund or replacement.

Probably 4 or 5 times Ive needed them.

Firecuda SSD didn't arrive, they just sent a replacement
Some window things to stop Flies etc didn't have all parts, they just sent a replacement

Candle didnt arrive, replacement sent

And the biggest was a Nordictrack exercise bike I bought, and after killing myself carrying it up the stairs on my own I set it all up.

Though using it for the first time I could tell something was wrong and i found out the resistance part of machine wasn't working.

Now I'm the type to try and fine out why so I looked at parts list, found out where the problem might be and unscrewed a section and found the broken part.
You get a parts list with it that Nordictrack send out for free so I thought this is something I could do without sending it back, really didn't want to carry it back downstairs :D

But I thought I would contact Amazon anyway. On the live chat I just explained the machine was broken (didn't say it was in bits) and they gave me three options, full refund, a replacement or a discount.

I said I prefer not to send it back as it would be a pain so asked what kind of discount and i got 25% off which the exercise bike costs £1200 pound was pretty decent I thought and it was simple for me to fix myself once the part came from Nordictrack for free.
If it had been harder to fix I guess I would have sent it back but generally Ive had no problem with Amazon in resolving issues.

Is there any disadvantages of sharing my prime membership with my OH?

Will our purchase history and payment methods stay discrete and separate?

They get your benefits and yes it stays separate. If my mrs saw my purchase history we probably wouldn’t be together.
