Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

indeed all of them if you don't mind fibbing a bit on the "Why are you returning it" menu.
didn't intentionally fib, but, genuinely seemed appropriate
Specified the "The item was not received by the estimated delivery date" which then gave me the option of a free postage return QR code

They had not sent the email providing a delivery date which the order receipt said they would, for the temporarily unavailable item, & just dispatched it autocratically
Arriving:
We'll notify you via e-mail when we have an estimated delivery date for this item.
if they had I would have cancelled, because I bought elsewhere

You used to be able to cancel it in flight through the app, not sure if that's still an option. Failing that they generally seem to offer free return postage on a lot of items or indeed all of them if you don't mind fibbing a bit on the "Why are you returning it" menu.
Jeff Bezos would like to know your location....

Amazon is a breeze compared to some companies
Not sure if companies(clarks shoes) are already deploying chatgpt for customer responses - V todays email exchange with them - they'll be out of business.

Hi,

I had a lengthy conversation with your 0801 careline, probably logged, about this issue made 12:05 for 54minutes.

I wanted to determine how/whether my relation can return, by post, an item purchased, face to face, in a clarks shop (no order # as an online purchase would have)
what address to use and process to follow,

this does not appear to be described on the web-site

web-site says

You can return items you bought in store by post, however our warehouse does not have the information it requires for us to automatically refund you when we receive your items. To process your refund, we will contact you once we have received the return to take the relevant information.
However, if you return your items to a Clarks store, the refund will be processed immediately.

however, if you do not have an order #, you cannot use the return centre https://clarks.otailo.com/clarks-uk
and the process to follow in a post office, say, address to use, payment mechanism is not clear (I would reasonably expect to pay postage)

the outcome of the conversation was that I could package the item, including receipt, senders details and take it to a 'parcelshop' and that they would know the address,
but, nonetheless, this seems documented nowhere.

I find it difficult to believe this is an uncommon request, so would hope web site can be improved (my lengthy conversation not a waste),
and that you can reply with the procedure to follow

Regards, Paul

Dear Paul,
Thank you for taking the time to contact us regarding your recent enquiry.
I am happy to confirm the following methods of returning an order to us.
To return by post, we have a selection of carriers you can choose from. Please follow the steps below to produce your Returns label or QR barcode for instore printing:
Go to our Online Returns Portal (Returns and Refunds | Clarks).
You will be prompted to enter your order number (e.g. 658765432) and your billing address postcode. Please then select the item(s) that you would like to return & the returns reason. Then select your preferred shipping method and enter the required information to register your return. We would kindly ask that you send your items back to us with the original Packing Slip, so we can identify your order number.
Once you have registered your return through the return’s portal, you will receive an email summarising your return order. Within this email, there is a tracking link where you can track the progress of your shipment back to Clarks.
Please be advised that the online returns tool can be used only if the order was placed online and not in store.
Alternatively, your order can be returned to your local Clarks full price store. If you are returning your parcel to a Clarks store, please take your email confirmation and the card that you have originally made payment with if you placed the order online or the receipt or the bank statement with the transaction if you made the purchase in store
Please note, online orders paid for using Klarna cannot be refunded in store, please return Klarna orders to our distribution centre via the post.
I am sorry to confirm but unfortunately an item bought in store cannot be returned by post.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact us and I do hope you find the above information to be helpful.

Kind regards

I'm wondering if their CEO has better language capabilities.

Amazon have started occasionally using DPD to send items, everytime they use them it doesn't get delivered or I have some sort of issue and there's no option to refuse to use dpd as the carrier. Utter rubbish. The last time DPD sent an item to a locker for pickup the driver took a photo and never even put the item in the locker. Hours of my life wasted sorting that mess out.

Amazon's own delivery has been fantastic. Such a shame they let themselves down using the useless DPD.

Since when do DPD deliver to Amazon lockers?

They have their own parcel shops you can collect from but I’ve not known them ever to deliver to lockers.

OK, does anyone know how to remove shows from the 'continue watching' menu on Prime now? It seems that in their wisdom Amazon has removed the edit button.

Amazon has upped its free delivery limit to £25 bah I'm not spending that much £15 for a shower hose + nearly £5 for delivery? I'll order it from Screwfix and collect it on the way home thanks. Oh wait I did.

OH please do not get RM involved with Amazon deliveries. My heart sinks when I see RM will be ******* up my delivery...
Yep, their service has taken a complete nosedive in the last year or so. I don't even think they do normal postal deliveries daily anymore as things that do come through the letterbox are usually dated a 10+ days ago.

Its crazy the turnaround, earlier in this thread pre covid I was whinging about all the issues, but they have seemed to got their act together now.

Now get delivery hour slots every order, no more post 10pm deliveries, and no more skipped deliveries.

Thats odd, just ordered some cleaning stuff for oven door and cheapo amazon basics scraper, about 8 quid in total, and its free prime delivery.

I think the min order thing is only on certain really small items?

Last 3 items i've ordered have been faulty. All worth pretty much nothing. Literally cost more than some of them were worth to drive to return them.

Eww. There are people without Prime?
* Raises hand * :D

We get a couple of months a year when each of us gets a free 30 day trial. Oh I paid for a month to catch up on a few things and because ME remastered was free so it made it cheaper than buying that which I was going to anyway.

Otherwise there's not much on there and it's not hard to spend the minimum amount of I need to get a bit, otherwise actual shops are often cheaper for little things.

Haha it was a T in C comment.

I'm glad people shop elsewhere. Amazon are far too big for far too long.
