Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

Very much this.
The cheap stuff is flooding in. It's turning into a Aliexpress with higher prices and faster delivery.

I've only been using them recently due to having gift vouchers.

Amazon is no longer the go to for shopping. It's often not competitive anymore.

I do use it for benchmarking prices a bit though
Been that way for a few years now. A lot of people just use it for convenience, which is another solid part of their business model.

where do you buy stuff from if it's not Amazon ?

Bulk purchase of non-perishable food stuffs, toiletries, usually incurs large postage costs elsewhere, genuine electrical goods they sell/supply have a solid guarantee (versus Curry's say)
like branded clothing.

Parents are annoyed by Amazon buying up the upcoming rugby summer nations matches from BT so now need to take out a prime video sub and watch on roku,
don't believe they can watch it on their sky box.

Amazon is the only place I can get long USB cables 2m+. Other ones in shops are too short or expensive. Poundland do 1.5m for £1.50 and lasted a week,

I recently bought a X670E mobo and 32GB DDR5 ram and it was quite a bit cheaper than anywhere else.
But yes, there’s some absolute trash tier products on there lately.
They can be. But they are no longer the go to for me.
I'll use Google Shopping to compare.

And if it's tat like cables, led strips, cheap non electrical tools.. Aliexpress.

Or ebay, ebay is so in favour of buyers it's basically no risk

And so it begins, I expect there will be some Prime Max, Prime Ultra etc subscriptions coming down the line, clearly the cost of living, cost of doing business and general state of the world economy right now is worrying poor Jeff.
Sad state of affairs, there goes everything is free to deliver for prime now.

I do use same day a fair bit, as its the only way to reduce the delivery window on Amazon (ensures will be afternoon delivery instead of any time of the day).

Although I already wasnt sure if would renew when my 12 month expires, like some others on here, I renewed for 12 months to defer the prime cost increase. Every time something interests me on amazon video its always pay to view, never inclusive.

Problem is state of the competition, I ordered a hairdryer for my niece from boots last year, something went wrong, and I just couldnt get hold of boots on the phone, was a complete mess, had to do a chargeback. Ordered the same from Amazon for less money and was delivered with no fuss within 24 hours.

My prime membership expired at the end of July and I decided not to renew it due to the increase in price and also the cost of living.

I haven't been watching much on prime video anyway and find that you can get free delivery if your order is over £25.

Turns out i renewed (at the new rate) in July. But I will just hit the cancel button. So at least the decision is mine next year if I forget.

This why people use Amazon (Prime), because for the vast majority it is very consistent, very quick, free delivery on random 99p items to thousands of pounds worth. If you need to contact them for returns and complaints it is very simple. So in the end it can be price vs service and a lot prefer the service.

Delivery from the uk bit tends to be right for me, but the EU one can be a bit random.
I have noticed more sellers from China etc popping up on it and their delivery times are rarely accurate.

Another reason to hate Amazon.

When you want to return something and the only options are print in store labels and then you find the printer in store is out of action for whatever reason but there's no alternative. They don't give you the option to print it yourself.

Now I have to wait around tomorrow for a Royal Mail collection instead as that's the only option where you can print the label yourself at home.

Presumably don't have an Amazon Locker nearby? Until 3 years ago, where I live, there was no AL for 3 miles. Now its outside a petrol station about 10 min walk from home or a 3 min detour in the car if collecting/returning something on the way to work.

Or your item is too big for AL.
