Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

^ that's only happened to me once, when i returned an item to amazon EU. all my other UK returns are refunded when they receive the item.

have to say amazon were good for me (again) yesterday. i bought a pretty expensive motorbike alarm disk lock last feb, it malfunctioned yesterday, contacted amazon via chat and they're refunding me once they receive it back.

I get refunds as soon as the item is first scanned with a courier, be it RM or someone else.
Well I just managed to get through to a human on customer chat. They thanked me for bringing this to their attention and will investigate further to make sure it doesn't happen again. They have issued a refund as an exception to me.

Has Amazon introduced a new useless AI chatbot -

One jar of 6jars of jam smashed in delivery yesterday with mess inside the box, expected to just upload some pictures of packaging disaster and get a refund.

- menu based return process said product not eligible for refund/replacement despite selecting damaged at delivery, because it was grocery I think.
- telephone call back system/bot gave same response and hung up, could not find a way of speaking to a human. (system also asks you to input 3 digit code on keypad - hadn't seen that before)
- used telephone call back, lying about which order had had a problem, bot system asked for description of problem, which I gave, pregnant pause & it stopped responding, so hung up
- finally, after googling called 0800 279 7234 and got to speak to someone, after they sent an email to me to authenticate myself .....finally go a refund

elapsed time > 30mins, had used call back about 6 times trying/failing to speak to human.

Another reason to ditch Prime, like I needed one. Roll on November.

It really pees me off when they stick advertisements on paid for streams. One reason I'll never buy sky. If they want advertising revenue then offer up a free or cheaper tariff and subject users to advertisements via that.

Oh well I'm sure AGH will do a fine job of filtering it out.

Little bit annoyed,I hate adverts when I'm watching something. Tbh I use Prime more for the delivery, but I'm really trying to wean myself off that buying habit.

We've come full circle.

Streaming was the escape from terrestrial, cable and satellite ad hell. You paid for it, but boy was it worth it.

Now they're bringing ads to it, so yet again you're paying for the privilege to get sold to.

I told my wife last night I'm cancelling Prime and cited:

- increasing year on year costs
- the ads coming our way
- cancelling decent shows on Prime (Peripheral, grr)
- Amazon is full of junk, the search has been manipulated to hock junk over what you actually search for
- extra delivery charges on top of what you already pay
- if Prime relies on Royal Mail, good luck seeing that for a week round our way

Essentially paying more for less at every turn.

Same here, ditched prime a month or two back. Haven’t noticed, haven’t missed it.

That's exactly what they are doing though so why does it pee you off, they will offer a cheaper tariff with ads and a note expensive one without ads. Exactly what you asked for.

From what I recall from reading the linked article this morning is that they're not offering a cheaper alternative with ads, they're just offering a more expensive alternative. That's basically having your cake and eating it.

I've cancelled prime and delivery wise I do not miss it whatsoever. Things still get delivered the next day or the day after regardless of Amazon claiming they'll take 5 days.

Sellers are simply not going to wait to dispatch your item to make prime look better. We've also gotten better at ordering items we need instead of ordering rubbish every other day and shopping around more.
