Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

That's fraud and Amazon will no doubt eventually ban your address.
I tried to return an item that I didn't want (incorrect order). I refused the delivery (as Amazon email says to do) and got a refund.
The next day, they tried to deliver again - I refused, and contacted Amazon who said they had registered on the system, and it wouldn't happen again.
The next day, the doorbell rang, and when I opened the door, the parcel was on the doorstep, and the driver had pegged it, back to the van and away...

... So my brother got a free coffee machine.

They are so incompetent, and such poor communication between depots and the main system, they don't care.

I noticed later that the refund originally given was due to 'damaged in transit' - not even returned item.

I quit prime in January and would neved go back. Even 'standard free delivery' is usually within 2 or 3 days, and we just wait until we have £25 of things to order.

I don't blame the drivers - I imagine it's a terrible place to work - but I will use anywhere else before Amazon if possible.

If they tried to re-deliver my rejected delivery 3 times I'd probably be keeping it as well!

I disagree with always reporting porch deliveries as undelivered though, that is certainly dodgy ground.

Had a couple but mostly they seem pretty good at knocking, as long as the delivery is in good working order I wouldn't report any issue as such.

You can leave feedback on deliveries as well if it isn't good I think.

I needed a M.2 SSD next day so ordered late. When it was delivered it was just the SSD box, seal broken and no SSD.

Returned via post office, person there scanned it and put it in a bag saying I'd get an email. Never got email, 4 weeks later notified I was getting charged.

Managed to sort it out when I finally got a human on the chat.

So 2 fails in one. Empty box and return shambles.

If you have the same product on Amazon market and ebay from same seller at same price - which gives you better protection if you have an issue ?

I tend to think ebay, since mechanism to communicate with seller, with potential paypal arbitration seems better, than amazon 'messages'
but don't know if commission costs for seller are the same in both cases ? I might give them the sale on the system where they payed less

....
was wondering how accurate the new Amazon drone drop off will be - didn't know that the CAA had ok'd that.

Just had my latest

left on the doorstep!

Even better that it was a "signature required" delivery.

I've also noticed more and more delivery drivers not using the video doorbell, guess that's to avoid not getting caught just dumping it on the doorstep
I think I have had 2 recent deliveries of a knock, open door and parcel is leaning on wall. Driver having legged it.

Placed an order last week, product out of stock but said would be delivered on oct 31st. Since then product has come back into stock and people have ordered and received
next day, its now out of stock again.
My order still hasnt shipped. It's been stuck on preparing for dispatch for 3 days now.
Amazon are no help at all.
Anyone else had this and how long has it been stuck on preparing for dispatch?

I returned an item to Amazon on the 22nd August via Royal Mail. According to the tracking, delivery to their returns centre was attempted yesterday but no one was in. They will reattempt delivery on the next working day.

WTF? I thought their returns centre was open 24/7 to receive returns. I've tried their customer chat but it just keeps giving me automated responses and I can't get through to a human.

What should I do now?, wait until delivery is reattempted or try to contact customer services.

Well I just managed to get through to a human on customer chat. They thanked me for bringing this to their attention and will investigate further to make sure it doesn't happen again. They have issued a refund as an exception to me.

Just checked the tracking number and it was received and signed for on the 14th September. They issued a refund on the 2nd September after delivery was first attempted on the 1st September when no one was in. It’s a good job I used the signed for service and had a tracking number which got me the refund quicker.

If I had waited until the 14th September the refund to my credit card would have taken at least three working days meaning it would have cleared on the 19th September at the earliest.

I had to pay at least the minimum amount by the 19th September. I didn’t really want to be in a situation where my credit card would be in credit and I’d have to pay 3% to have the balance transferred back to my bank account.

So it all worked out in the end.

I cancelled my Amazon account ages ago - A while back I was looking for something and it was on amazon - looked at it and it said log in so just for a laff I clicked it and it said Fred welcome back and log in -All my details were still there so carried on and they tried the Prime bit (the thing I cancelled for) Got to end hoping for just pay and send it -NO -I had to go through Prime (I couldn't find a way not to) - So logged off I think and shut it down.
Hate them - I really do.

Normally get refunds from Amazon as soon as they scan the QR code and drop it off at Post Office ... maybe I'm a trusted customer, or they are trying to entice me to buy Prime.

For some reason I had to pay to send it back even though it said free returns. I probably didn’t do it properly and only realized I had to pay when I got to the post office. Only had £10 on me so could only afford the signed for option which was £9.07. In any case I didn’t mind as I had changed my mind and it was unopened.

Yeah it has come through as £2/m in the account though the checkout and email said £0.00 - will see what is actually billed at - not gonna complain at £3/m total though. The whole messing about does my head in though.

And the saga continues...

Your current offer is coming to an end but don’t worry, we’ve got good news for you! We’ve given you a new Entertainment offer for an extra 6 months – which means you can keep streaming brilliant TV shows for just £4.99 a month (usually £9.99 a month).

You don’t have to do anything – we’ve already applied this discount to your account. And you can still cancel your membership any time in My Account.

Has Amazon changed subscribe and save? Used to be able to buy with the subscribe and save discount while selecting earlier delivery, now I only see the option for the later subscribe and save delivery rather than next day.

Ordered a Hungarian Goose down pillow, for some reason Amazon sent it via DPD, anyway didn't arrive when it was supposed to, Amazon gave me £10 credit. 2 days later pillow still not arrived so got a refund, guess some DPD driver is using it as a nice cushion in his van. In this case DPD sucks massive donkey balls.

I find Amazon extremely good for returns and refunds as well. The other week I ordered an item that was the incorrect size, all via the amazon app I got Royal Mail to collect next day, and refunded as soon as the postman collected and scanned it into the system.

I've had some amazing 'Keep it and we'll send another' over the years with Amazon and that is very hard to beat.

Not sure if thats official policy, sounds like you got lucky on the discretion lottery.

For me I do feel its gone downhill, if something didnt arrive on time, they used to just send it out again no questions asked, last time I was told to wait a while before they would repost. Its also now way harder to contact them.

But I do agree they still a step above many other retailers.

Delivery seems to have hit the **** pile recently, with emails informing me it was handed to the resident, which means left against the door or behind the bin and when you click wasn't happy with delivery, nothing happens I guess, apart from the delivery driver being told 5 people were not happy today.
Also have cancelled orders a few times when stated today/tomorrow delivery becomes sometime next week/month after payment. This is more noticeable when it ends up coming from abroad, which is not stated in the ad to start with.
Poxy adverts and so much now being an extra subscription I was going to cancel, but the OH paid, but that will be under review early next year.
