Amazon Prime sucks massive donkey balls

It does appear their prices tend to be more expensive than ebay for little random bits, tech can be cheaper but not always, and other stuff varies. But there's a lot of poop on there backed by questionable reviews.
I agree, I thinkg though people use it because of next day delivery, they get used to it and it becomes automatic to order from them.
Similar to how everyone says I need a hoover rather than vacuum cleaner - its become synonymous with shopping, and that's what they rely on.

Many people I know keep telling me how they only ever buy stuff on Amazon and how it's the only place they ever shop.

It's almost as if people don't understand why monopolies are bad.

The more power you give them, the more scummy they become. Every. Single. Time.
Yes, I think once they get the monopoly fully they will clamp down on things like returns etc. I've noticed they have changed over the last few years

Do you guys often get delivery drivers ring on doorbell and time you get to the door, parcel is just left on floor and driver has long gone?

Wondering what sort of feedback I should leave on the app.

More often that than I actually make it to the door and they're still there

Last time I had a delivery it was left outside the wrong apartment! As I’d had a delivery for that apartment left outside my door before in error I went across the road and checked outside their door on the off chance it was there, and it was! Emailed customer services to notify them and they apologized and told me to inform them if it happens again.

I've found the drivers around here do tend to knock, but by the time I've gone to the door they've already started going to put the box around the back. More recently the no knock at all has become more common though and I just find out it's been delivered when the email comes through...

I have a parcel box clearly labelled PARCELS next to my door
They still just dump it on the ground against my door and walk back to their van without even knocking, even if it's raining.

All other companies including Evri use the parcel box and they're great. The Amazon drivers around here are just idiots

They don’t even ring the intercom for me, just drop and run.
As soon as one of my dogs bark they drop the parcel and leg it - don't even get chance to ring the doorbell.
What annoyed me with today's delivery was the fact the tracking website never offered a time estimate at all, I had no idea when the delivery might arrive.

I’ve cancelled my prime sub, saving the £95 for something else.

I rarely watch tv and I’ve ”completed” buying stuff from Amazon during lockdown, so my order numbers have dropped from triple figures to just over double digits this year.

I do plan to buy the odd stuff from Amazon now and again, it’s hard not to when they are the largest retailer, i’ll just keep stuff in the basket and order it in when there’s a load of stuff that I ”need” rather than buying the odd thing every so often.. mainly books, video games and household products.

I do plan to sub to Amazon over next year christmas period, just for Christmas gifts, thou I kinda said to my family that they are all sponsoring donkeys next year but it allows me to watch the football and catch up on the boys and invincible.

I hate myself for ordering from them but, i know it will turn up and if I don't like it them back it goes and the refund is always sorted

This is pretty much the long and short of it. Their CS isn't as good as it once was but at least when you return something you get a no fuss refund or exchange, and you don't have to go through the motions of explaining everything when they start kicking up a fuss like you do with some retailers.

The advert stated XY Two of

So bought from Amazon, which they handled on behalf of the actual company that makes what I bought.

Turns up in a tatty little box with an almost stuck down Amazon Warehouse sticker and was just one item and the bag inside containing it, had previously been opened and looked like a return.

Best part was, because the item was just one and not two as the advert made it look, it actually worked out at almost £20 dearer than buying direct from the manufacturer, which I did after returning the crap Amazon expected me to accept in a second hand condition as brand new!

Amazon offer free delivery without paying a subscription. If you order that much, you’ll never be paying for delivery.

Non prime deliveries happen within 2-3 and prime is 1-2 days for me. Prime is really not worth it if all you do is shop…

Had an email this morning stating that from 5th Feb, Prime Video movies and TV shows will include 'limited' advertisements, with an option to pay ANOTHER £2.99 a month for ad-free..... It's already become near impossible to browse since they removed the 'free for me' filter and now this. What a total load of donkey balls

Guess I'll be cancelling before my next renewal and trying to watch anything I'm not caught up on in the next month. A mate gave me a free 12 months on Disney+ recently which I've been getting good use from so I guess they'll be getting my money from next year and might dip in to Netflix for a month now and again

Same email today. If I cancel will my fire stick still do netflix / Disney and the like or will it stop working? It's how we run our TV currently.
