AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

If I didn't have such a huge library of games on PC, then I would have jumped ship with the new console launch. I don't like being fleeced, and that's what it feels like with PC these days.
I'm the same, even with over 2000 game library I'm debating not buying any more pc hardware in future. Feels to me to Iike pc is now a free for all for retailers and Manufacturing just taking the Mick.

One thing I've noticed with high end this gpu debacle is that this situation appears to be affecting the lower teir of cards as well. I've tried to get my hands on a 1650/1660 level of card and, where they were plentiful about 3 weeks ago, they're ALL like hen's teeth now! I've tried all the usual big retailers, ocuk was my first port of call, and the midrange gpus are virtually sold out everywhere and they've also gone up in price virtually across the board by about £20-£30 as well. I dunno if this is down to the pandemic, Xmas, overall demand or what but its like going back to the crypto mining days again (god forbid).

Its because there is no stock so people who were waiting for the new GPU's are buying the older cards to tide them over till next year. Like someone said in another thread in next few weeks all that will be left will be the overpriced stuff.

That makes sense, just surprising it happened so quickly

I think the 6080/XT AIB release was the last straw so many people pinning their hopes on getting one its been accelerated because there was 0 stock unlike the 3xxx series where at least some were and are getting sold. Looking round just now I've found 3070's and 3090's in stock for deliver Mon/Tue. Either the demand for them is slowing or people wont pay £200 over the top of an FE.

Demand for 3090's has definitely peaked and is now declining rapidly, combination of things, AIB mark up cost, rumours of 20GB 3080Ti in January & people holding off to see if the 6900XT is a compelling buy at £1K (assuming you can get them, of course), as for paying £680 for a 3070...crazy.

Loads of people also sold their 2070/2080 cards while the price was high in anticipation of the new cards then found themselves without a card to use, so had no option but to chuck a low end card in.

Prob not this side of Christmas.

So there has been an update after Gibbos initial post of "Any stock that does come in, we shall give a heads up on the forum before making available to order, but that is very unlikely to happen this week, more like next week." regarding AIB cards last Wednesday.

Thats disappointing :(

That was last week... meaning possible stock this week.

There hasn't been any official update? Not that I've seen anyway. Therefore according to Gibbo's statement there could be some AIB cards this week. But it'll probably be tiny amounts of stock.

Well if you look at other places there is none either and no signs of any coming in, I think it will be VERY small amounts this side of xmas.. I am going to stick with my Vega64 till the new year as prices will be stupid till then.

The rest of the 6800 MBA cards arrived and backorders now shipped.
We shall make these available to order at a later point this week, which will be announced on the forum probably around Wednesday/Thursday this week.@Gibbo

Thanks Gibbo- how many are you selling this week? is it a couple of 100

Probably just a couple of cards total, which the bots will snap up instantly! :p

Can't help but feel that 2020 will have tipped many over the edge into 'PC gaming is just now far more trouble & hassle than its worth'.,I suspect many will take a 2 or 3yr break from it. People have better things to do with their time than hovering over a keyboard, hammering F5 in the hope they get lucky, the fact it has come to this is a sure fire sign of a broken system.

Yeah, PS5s were easy to get and haven't had any issues with supply, demand, mass theft etc.
