AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

They all need to get their **** together. ;)

Nope just AMD and Nvidia! Retailers cant sell non existent stock, Nvidia caused their **** show selling all their initial stock to miners and AMD caused their **** show by launching knowing they had no stock as their capacity is all directed to making PS5 and XBox and ZEN3 CPU's!

can OCUK staff confirm if they have 6800xt in the next few days or are they just 6800 models?

Good luck getting a XT any time soon - even reviewers are being told if they break their cards they are unlikely to get a replacement before near the end of Jan and supposedly a whole 5 cards for the UK up to the end of the year.

Retailers aren't helping by doing nothing about the flagrant scalper botting. They have their share of the blame.

Very true - a group in the UK reported they were able to gain PS5 stock of approx. 3500 units. Even if they were to sell all of those at a slightly inflated price, they're still earning millions.

And almost all of them appear to be on eBay by the look of it and most are not just slightly inflated. Preying on those desperate to get something for themselves or their kids for xmas. Somethings going to need to change or online retail is going to be a crap shoot in future for ordinary shoppers with little chance of getting hold of anything thats likely to be popular or sought after.

my m1 case arrived in the country today was pretty quick coming from overseas, so dont see the ports as the hold up!

Not everything arrives via ports if it arrives quickly its air freighted in. Which is limited and costly and fine for individual orders but bulk stock will come via container shipping which takes weeks to months to arrive.

Scalpers can die in a fire as far as I'm concerned, and they most certainly won't be getting my money, I can tell you that much. I can and will wait for retailers to get their **** together.
This is funny because places including OcUK are selling above the RRP so I’ll assume you’ll boycott them too :p

As stock continues to drip in and demand will always remain high since they're only being slowly produced, groups will still target and continue to make profit. It's a no brainer for them really, especially leading up to Christmas and even after that, AMD and NVIDIA are looking at a new bunch of cards for Spring. It's going to be chaos.

I know someone who has managed to pull stock of PS5s on Wednesday from the channel, before it even hits retail, for their staff to buy.

(I was offered one but not interested - but joked about taking 10 to sell on ebay - I wouldn't do it but a couple of other people said they'd have no qualms doing it)

AMD are addressing the issue of the RRP in apparently 4/8 weeks. They recognise that the AIB's have been selling at overinflated prices and then again on websites. We should probably see a reduction of £50/£75 in the future but I wouldn't count on it.

they need to reduce the price of the 6800 anyway as it's outperformed by the cheaper 3060Ti.

Report the trolls. 6800 decimates the 3060ti.

Actually I concede I made an error - the 6800 is faster than the 3060ti - don't know what review I was looking at.

To be honest, until websites find a way of preventing bots (scalpers) from mass purchasing - I don't see this changing any time soon.

If the scalpers continue to get stock, people will be more prepared to just spend the extra money and buy it, unfortunately. The profit for some groups has been insane.
Now imagine that, due to an absolute trickle of stock, this is still the situation in March 2021... scalpers still scalping, no stock anywhere :p

You won't be able to get a 3060Ti cheaper than £500 in this country anyhow, according to ACompetitor's leaked prices. Nice juicy £150 markup over RRP for a mid-range GPU, hah.

You could say so, but with all modern AI-based botting systems, there's really not much they can do in the end. Any captcha can be bypassed, any hidden links can be dug out etc. If human can do it, bot can do it too, just faster. Granted, some retailers failed horribly (one starting with C. doesn't even have simplest anti-bot protection = really bad!) but even the ones that had good safeguards got sold out in seconds. Bots or not, stock is miniscule. :/
