AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

It's there any possibility of long standing customers getting any priority (dare I say loyalty) with the purchase of these new gpus?

You know OCUK... us old farts who have no interest in social media and who would not even think to look on twitter, where you posted your secret links to purchase the 6800 series.

Clever idea, but a big fu to many of us.

The question is... In this age of scalpers... Will I be able to buy a gpu before die? Will I ever get to experience ray tracing? How many years will I have to wait to be able to purchase a rt card?

What ever happened customer loyalty?

Stay subscribed to this thread and you might be in luck? However seeing as absolutely anybody can read these forum posts I'm guessing bots will be on it long before any regular plebs get a chance...

Bought a 3070 from OCUK. Best part of a month later, 3 places advanced in queue.

Bought 6800 direct from AMD themselves, courier marked it as "signed for by 'my name' and delivered" three days ago....I absolutely did not sign for it, and no sign of it since.

Tried emailing AMD and got no reply, courier basically told me to take it elsewhere. AMD direct shop has no email or phone number. Complete nightmare. I literally have to ring AMD's magic catch-all number later today when they are open.

I also bought a 6800 direct from AMD. It spent 4 days on a tour of Birmingham courtesy of a DHL Express courier, 170 miles away from where I live, and they text me 4 days in a row to troll me. "Your parcel is out for delivery" they lied each time.
So when my parcel suddenly get marked as delivered in my town - signed for by the mysterious "A" - I was somewhat surprised. They sent a courier all the way from Brum for lil old me? :D

Contacted DHL express who said it was nothing to do with them, it's DHL Parcel UK I need to speak to - so why have DHL Express been texting me and I have a DHL Express tracking number?

Neither AMD or DHL could organise a social function in a brewery it would seem...

Customer service is extremely poor in the UK at the moment, and it's all too easy for companies to blame it on Covid-19. Trading Standards really should be getting involved at this point.

This is exactly right. Covid is the go to excuse now for practically everyone to give crappy service. All to easy for people to take your money but when it comes to keeping you updated, your left high and dry.

Try getting hold of them ... all "working from home" because of ...... covid :D

Funny how actual customer facing roles have worked right the way through the pandemic, isn't it. I really don't see how office workers are more at risk, but that's modern Britain for you, look after the non-productive workers first and **** everyone else! :p

DHL are the pits. A few years back I had a MS Surface Pro go missing from the box. It was obvious that the box had been opened and whoever it was had substituted the computer with a book so that the weight was roughly correct.

MS were pretty good about it once I sent photos and sent a replacement a few days later.

Given the choice I wouldn’t choose DHL. DPD are pretty good though, never had a problem with them.

They are good but I get the feeling everyone in the business are currently having a melt down tbh. Deliveries are taking longer and this week I had DPD email me telling me my parcel was coming the next day, and then a new email saying it was actually today, followed by an email saying I had missed my parcel delivery, 5 hours before the allotted slot time which I ignored. And then my delivery was actually delivered perfectly normally in the 1 hour allotment .

Definite wibbles throughout the entire system

I'd like to know this too, if not I might be productive at work today and not spend all my time refreshing the forums. :D

I think everybody wants to know this but it’s gone all quiet from Gibbo for some time now. Anybody not able to sit there all day F5ing will be out of luck, as they were yesterday, so 2 productive days lost.

I'm really hoping for a card before the new year, I'm based in NI and I'm nearly sure anything coming across the water from GB will count as an import into the EU market once the TP ends which means extra taxes and customs charges.

If you are in NI, then there can’t be any extra taxes as you are part of the UK. If you are Eire then there could be, but then you can’t buy from OC as they are only selling to UK atm.

Might be in the UK but without a deal NI ends up in the EU market and everything ends up as a mess. To put it nicely, having grown up in NI I have no confidence that the UK gov (let alone a conservative one) will negotiate in my best interests :D

Anyway I'll not worry about all that if our lord and saviour Gibbo happens to announce that some 6800's are going up today;)
