AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

For those who failed, like me (again) to get a 6800XT...

According to MLID the 6700XT is going to be a damp squib. About 10% faster than a 5700XT for £400+.

Apparently AMD can't get near 3060Ti perf at that price, and aren't prepared to lower their prices to compete (premium, y'all).

So basically it's 6800XT or bust, from AMD at least. The other cards aren't going to be competitive.

And the lower mid-range cards are going to plain suck.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was true.

There was a stock drop at AMD.com.

I managed to add a 6800XT to the cart and then got loads of errors on the payment section. Now it's out of stock again.

Just lol.

Congrats to all the bots and scalpers who bought one, or twenty.
I had a 5600x in cart and had payment up and then went out and added a 6800xt and couldn't get back in.:p

Oh well, just seen that my Seasonic PSU has slipped to late Jan/early Feb.

Think I'll probably cancel that order.

Not much point trying to build a whole new PC right now with almost nothing in stock.

Probably try again in March or whatever.

6x00's all appear to be out of stock now, not sure if they sold out instantly and the site took a while to catch up or they were only going through to buyers in the US or somewhere else, no-one in the EU managed to get their hands on one apparently

According to some people on the hardocp forum they were also getting errors with addresses not being recognised, seemingly the only "zip code" it would accept was Indiana so it looks like someone in charge of the website made a massive ballsup that affected a ton of orders.

Could these launches get any more farcical?

AMD: "Hold my beer..."

I'm sure they could find a way. So far they've managed to get progressively worse over time.

There where promo links that worked / allowed shipping (only found them when all the cards went out of stock), really REALLY annoying

As others, sat there for 20 minutes in the car. All went fine until the Confirmation page and the Place Order button doesn't do anything on the iPhone, totally unclickable. Thought they may just be sold out so tried other products (processor etc) and just the same, button just doesn't click. Guess I will just have to wait until next year some time as my chances of nabbing anything on OCUK is extremely small due to stock levels. :(
