AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

https://shop.amd.com/promo?promoID=4974233000&linkid=Radeon6800XT

This is the link that was posted on Partalert, about 20 minutes ago, worked straight away with email and Cc confirmation. Before I had the same errors as everyone else. Who knows if it will ship. Crazy times.

I managed to buy a 6800XT via that same link. I have had a confirmation e-mail from AMD, but I have heard stories from other people on the forums who ordered directly from AMD, who have had issues with Fedex "disappearing" their packages mysteriously en-route to their houses. I really hope this same doesn't happen on my order (or anyone elses who managed to get one).

Not sure how if they're not allowing purchase to complete if listed as a UK purchase.. Unless you're using some sort of IP mask/software to trick AMD

I posted in the Customer Service section asking for an update (purely to make sure I’d secured one and wasn’t just waiting for a back order or whatever) and they replied saying I’ve got one allocated which is in stock but has not been dispatched. Judging by Gibbo’s comments in other threads it’ll be shipped tomorrow or Thursday. Fingers crossed!

I’ve got all of the parts required for a new build waiting to be put together except this. I was actually trying for a 3060ti but had no luck and managed toget one of these without too much research into them before hand. I’m hoping my CPU won’t bottleneck with this GPU (ordered a 3600XT).

Gibbo mentioned they will ship tomorrow or Thursday. They have been clearing a very large backlog of orders for all kinds of stock it seems.

Ah so you are in the same boat as me, I have loads of shiny new parts for my new build (including a 3600XT) sitting in my spare room waiting for a the 6800 I ordered last week.

I don't understand why there's no pre order constant.
Demand is only finite at the end of the day.
If I could order a 6800XT without fail from AMD for £600 and it was a pre order but it took a month to arrive, I could live with that.

But being unable to buy a card and not knowing when I can buy a card is a joke.

It seems there was a "promo" link (not sure how people found it) that didn't have the same problems as the main store page.

So if you had items in your basket and visited the "promo" link, you could do the checkout.

It's stuff that you couldn't be realistically expected to know if you'd never ordered there before. It's horrendous from a customer point of view, but having inside info on how AMD's website works apparently gives you a better chance of ordering from them.

Farcical but that's how it appears to be.

Yep, same here a few times today. Tried a 6800, 6800XT and even a 6900XT. To be fair I was kinda panicking regarding the 6900XT in case it actually went through. What a waste of money that GPU is.

Why is it a waste? What was you expecting exactly? It was always pitched to be 5-10% faster than the 6800xt and sits just about there.

Got my AMD order email just now, took about 1hr25min after paying via paypal. Let's hope it goes smoothly from here. (6800xt)

For those who failed, like me (again) to get a 6800XT...

According to MLID the 6700XT is going to be a damp squib. About 10% faster than a 5700XT for £400+.

Apparently AMD can't get near 3060Ti perf at that price, and aren't prepared to lower their prices to compete (premium, y'all).

So basically it's 6800XT or bust, from AMD at least. The other cards aren't going to be competitive.

And the lower mid-range cards are going to plain suck.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it was true.

10% faster than a 5700xt would put it right around a 3060ti though :/

How so?

The 3060Ti is not that much slower than a 3070.

The 6700XT is apparently close to 2070 Super/2080 (OG) perf. A small improvement on the 5700XT and keeping the £400+ price point.

Which is hugely underwhelming.

Yeah I found that promo link an hour after launch.

I'm not sure what you've been looking at. It's a complete 50/50 depending on game though. The 5700xt averages about 15% slower than the 3060ti.

And the suggestion is the 6700xt is 10% faster than the 5700xt so it's price/performance is right there with the 3060ti from that then.
