All I can say is you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take!
Even if I had nothing better to do, I'd rather not spend my time frantically trying (and failing) to buy something in the 30-40s window they are available, once every two weeks
We've seen that the websites by and large cannot even cope with the sheer amount of people trying to all buy within this tiny window.
The whole experience is utter crap.
That has nothing to do with optimism. Getting any of these cards is a crapshoot, and I think most people would agree with me.

I don't think there's anyway anyone can think of the fight for a card as anything but a crap shoot honestly

If you spent as much time actually trying to put yourself in the best position to get a card as you do writing moaning messages on the forum you'd have one by now, but you go ahead and keep typing awayAll I can say is that the "compete to buy a GPU" game is not a fun game.

I (and plenty others) had some great fun yesterday around 2pm.
Even the people with all the alerts have a pretty small chance of getting one.
You know that they have polls on the alert channels after stock drops, don't you. It's normally <5% who manage it per drop.
Success in this case is not a function of effort. It's mostly a function of luck.
e: Added to that we know that the amount of cards per country per drop are typically <50. With thousands upon thousand of people trying to get one.
It's luck, even after you set up all the alerts and bots you can get your hands on.
e2: I should also say I'm not interested in paying more than RRP, so I'm only interested in the MBA cards. Don't care how often they come in stock at £800+. Don't want it at that price.

Can't name them here, they had the Nitro+ up just after 1pm (I have screen shots) was a bit pricey for me tho. Was only available for 3-4min
You won't. They are bought by bots and scalpers the minute they are put up for sale.
You have to have signed up for alerts to have any chance. And some people are even having to pay for alerts (because you need to make sure your alert is earlier than the next guy's alert
The whole situation is laughable, and many of us just choose not to take part atm.
I work on my PC all day so I run local alerts, the item I saw (nitro +) was online for a good 3-4min before stock was gone

Unfortunately I think that limits you to AMD direct sales.
For or me it seems like I'm going to have to just get the next available GPU 6800 / 6800XT / 3070 / 3080 that's within 20% of the MSRP.
My current GPU is on its way out and and it seems stock of last gen cards (2070s / 5700XT) is also really poor at the moment (prices are also close to the newer cards).... And the final kicker is that the 2nd hand market prices are still silly

Doesn't mean I can't slate AMD for their shockingly awful launch tho haha.
Ohh I agree they have dropped the ball hard on this launch (almost certainly down to most wafer supplies going to consoles). Poor move to release ALL 3 new 7nm products in a 6 week period.
But Nvidia hasn't had the smoothest launch with the 3080 / 3070
Finally I can upgrade my old GTX1050

RRP its over. 6800XT for 600£ not to be seen again.
Sad. AMD can go spin on my single digit, not getting my custom anytime soon.
3 weeks selling them, gone.
Oh and they do exist, with a XFX / powercolour sticker and a 60-90£ premium

i would suggest that there is actually an issue with the website instead. there are css issues all over the place and i wouldn't count them stopping the sale of them yet.
