AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

I feel like so far they have only shipped the Sapphire models? I have ordered the Powercolor and I haven't received any shipment email/cancellation yet. Payment at 14:28 / confirmation 14:31

Can you tell us if you will be able to communicate anything about the AIB products coming to market in the coming week, or will it be a 13:58 rushed post next Wednesday as well?

I think to be honest we'd just appreciate better communication. The explanation above is perfectly reasonable but sometimes its like getting blood from a stone trying to find out what the situation is.
Unfortunately, so much of what we'd like to tell you is tied up with NDAs. Whether we can tell you anything about the cards or not before launch is entirely up to AMD. To give you some idea, until first thing this morning we'd been told that we weren't even allowed to inform you about the AIB launch next week.

We have been led to believe that these particular models were "one hit wonders". A wider range of cards will launch next week.

This is concerning. Personally I like the reference design and would rather have that (same for 3080/3070) than an AIB model especially when the AIB models all seem to be priced higher than the reference cards.

Ayyy order shipped.
Sapphire 6800 XT, order time: 14:30:05, PayPal, didn't get OC's confirmation email until 14:40.

Was just about to give up hope and close the forums to go get back to work

Given the backend of the website appears to be a tragic mess, why don't you offload pre-orders to a separate queue system which is much more efficient and can handle the traffic, then migrate the orders over to the main system once the peak demand is over. Ive implemented this for various customers over the years who have product demand spikes and it works very well and can be set up very quickly if your web team graft for a day.
I'm no expert so I can't comment but I guess that the number of payment methods which we have to manage might complicate things.

Agreed, that’s a real shame if true. Really want a reference cooler design.

Thanks. Its a crazy situation and I cannot fathom what difference it makes whether you share information about the products or not. Still, it's their train set.

I mean i used a work pc and my own phone refreshing like a mad man (even delayed my lunch) and never saw anything then it went to add to cart but it was always that i had nothing to add.

Just same old crappy launches feeding off panic, clearly feeding into what the distros want too see happen now.

The 4k and raytracing performance is lightyears behind the 3080 after seeing the real benchmarks . It would still be nice to accutally get a card in my rig though !

I feel like the Nvidia launch and this launch has made me a bit crazy. I have a question that sounds stupid but I want to know. I've received a shipping confirmation but DPD doesn't recognise the reference. I'm guessing this means I got one and DPD just haven't updated their system yet/collected?

I'm a little paranoid and don't want to cancel my Nvidia 3080 pre-order until I have this in hand.

I think you're a lucky one :)
When I ordered the Ryzen a couple of weeks ago it didn't track at all until the next day, and then when it did it told me no updates and looked like it hadn't been collected from OCUK until late on the day it was meant to be delivered, then suddenly it was 2 hours away from my house about 1 hour before they stopped delivering... they missed the next day delivery without any email or apologies, and then turned up the next day with only a couple of hours notice. So in short - DPD suck, but there's probably one on its way to you! I wouldn't cancel your pre-order until you have it in the machine and working though personally, cos anything could go wrong in the meantime. The 3080 is unlikely to ship any time soon and worst case you end up with an extra card that you can sell for twice what you paid for it...
