AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

They were £599 yesterday, they were £599 today, the price has not changed on OcUK on any 6800 series cards since launch, we are just not at suggested price.

All cards got pulled yesterday due to overload and so it was done to do our best to prevent selling too many, as it turns out most of the ordering was on XT versions, hence some none XT were left which were made available on the quiet to forum members if they wanted one.

All our 6800 stock is now sold out but we have 100 each more of 6800 NONE XT due next week, these again won't be changing in price, shall still be £599.
I’m sorry so it was £100 on every card. Nice.

Let's be fair that is over the msrp for those cards so they have never been sold here at the proper price as far as I can tell. Supply and demand can only happen once an item is released if they are £80 more on the release then that is a markup.

£599 I think it's a great buy, up there with 6800xt/3090 on some titles, cheaper than a 3070 more memory,
Don't need the XT, not that much in performance & less power with 6800
just watch hardware unboxed

Just refused delivery of my 6800xt. Retrospectively, I don't think the markup from here made it that competitive. Hopefully it can go to someone here who wants it more than me.
I was very tempted to be a very naughty boy however ;)

All I hope is that people remember how OcUK overcharged from minute 0, allow over orders to occur, broke their own listed pre-order time (For 5000 CPUs) and generally have had poor communication re 6000 and 3000 GPUs. Every launch has been a fiasco l, worsened by OcUKs ability to cope with demand / website being ancient. I know they are looking to upgrade, but that's too little too late when everyone saw this coming from a mile away.

You did the right thing, now hopefully it will end up in the hands of a keen gamer. :)

If you need a card that isn't available anywhere at RRP at the moment surely it's better to buy from OC with warranty and a 14 day return policy for a bit more than someone of eBay. I know its not ideal but unless your happy to wait it's the only choice we have.

These are none XT's, we are still seeing zero availability on XT MBA models.
The very least you could do was to offer to the 800 you have taken money from first (I didn't order so doesn't affect me).

You freely admit that you have issues with the site which caused this but could easily have been addressed to an extent by limiting the concurrent users on the site at the time, to sell a few percent more cards would have been acceptable but 400% more is extremely poor. Instead you have alienated another 800 people to go with the thousands on the 3000 series launch.

You should have one yes, I pulled the ability for customers to order whilst my system was still showing 25 left, it is now currently showing 13 left, but there are still some orders to download.
If worse case you did not, there is another 100pc arriving next week which would cover your order but I think you will get one from this batch as I believe we have not oversold. :)

That 100pc the reference cards or the AIB's ?

Also how long will it take for card payment refunds to go through my order is still showing as "Order received - not yet shipped" after getting the no stock email last night.

I managed to grab a 6800 that went active about 50 minutes ago does anyone now when we may get an idea on delivery dates for the card by any chance, its just so i can decide if too wait for cyber Monday for other parts of my build or jump the gun now?

I really don`t understand people complaining about the prices. It`s the market right now. They should complain about the scalpers which ruin the market for genuine buyers. I needed 2 cards and was lucky to get one yesterday direct from AMD which was an RX6800XT. Is it nice that the prices have gone up, not at all?

Only you and you alone can decide if you are willing to pay that amount or not. We can actually be happy that OC informed us here they could have sold it yesterday for sure they did not and informed members in the Forum " Missed a chance, here you got a second one "

And on the other hand yes they want to make money and this is their god-given right.

That is a crap excuse, you don't see this with other items so why does it happen to GPU's? If these products were as popular at PS5's, OCUK would get hammered for doing this crap, but they wont because these are niche products when compared. OCUK are scalping so I don't know why you would put them in a separate category to those on Ebay. Is it OK to scalp just as long as it is not too much??

It will probably ship today

Just not to the people who have already paid for them!!!

They did dispatch all the non 6800 they sold though. So yeah to all the people that paid them got a card yesterday allocated for the non XT version. The XT oversold in the high hundreds by sounds of it.

It’s shocking nothing more than a price grab.

But that isn't what happened here. Well not in terms of selling items "already paid for" as they haven't done that. At least read.

As explained by ScottiB there is simply not the man power.
We have made it clear to every single customer who ordered an XT there order is getting cancelled/refunded, so there is no option to change, that has been actioned.

Those who ordered and wanted a 6800 none XT can very easily have ordered one earlier or can order one next week if they wish and all the people who ordered one yesterday, GOT ONE!

We simply do not have the man power and yes our website/systems have caused us issues but unfortunately changing our entire backend, webshop and then training all the departments on how to use it takes months to roll out if not a year plus and this has been underway since before the 3080 launch but its a slow process and we have done all we can since that launch to try and improve what we have and though its still not ideal the 6800 launch has gone smoother for us.

The simple fact is AMD shipped us less than 100 XT's and in the couple of minutes window the order button was live we sold a lot more and all those oversold orders have and are being cancelled/refunded as we speak. Until our new systems are operational which won't be until next year we have to do the best with what we have and yes its not good enough at the moment when manufacturers release products knowing full well the demand and then have next to no supply.

Its not an OcUK issue, it is worldwide, trying to buy a 3080 online today is still practically impossible two months after the launch in the world, its more luck than anything.
