AMD 9800X3D ETA OFFICIAL THREAD

If they changed the picking process mid way through after so many have shipped it could change the allocations of the next wave though and be unfair to others. Best to stick with it and make changes in the future if any changes even need to be made.

We all ordered very close to the same time and we all want the CPU so ordering on time of payment received seems as good a way as another. Maybe people who used PayPal had a speed advantage over someone having to enter their card details and wait for confirmation from banking app for example. Is that fair?
Ordered at 1407, paid using PayPal. Still no dispatch. Make it make sense.

it's easy for me to take this view when I'm happily greasing up my CPU already
Indeed.

Nobody is asking for anything to ship before it's paid for.

OCUK are no different to any other retailer in this situation really. There simply wasn't enough supply, which isn't their fault.

But I feel a little uneasy that, if not for this forum, I would be £460 down for over a week with no timescale of when I'd be getting what I paid for. And even with the forum, I'm not really much the wiser because I ordered 10 minutes later than others. I have an order in elsewhere, and even they have been keeping me updated with slipping ETAs. It's just as useless but at least I have some sort of idea. Like others, I've got a full build here I can do nothing with until the CPU arrives.

That being said, I'm not doing myself any favours by checking here multiple times a day and looking at everyone else's shipping emails roll in!

As this was pre orders with multiple days in between, its not rocket science, when did they order being the primary mechanism, the time when payment cleared is irrelevant as long as it has before dispatch, which in EVERY case here would have meant all payments cleared and the order for dispatch very easy to sort out.

I get the not being able to guarantee a date but is it seriously beyond the realms of possibility to say to those of us who ordered where we sit in the queue
Yeah, it would make a lot more sense to go by order time in this scenario. I can only assume the way they have things setup it's not possible for some reason.

So reading all this, it looks like PayPal isn't the way to go for the 5090 launch as they take ages to clear?
Amazon pay seems to take ages, but my Paypal payment went through almost instantly. It's not really clear though (such is the running theme) as the payment thing hasn't really been consistent.

Did you pay with a debit card? I'm reading online and it says PayPal should be instant because the funds are already there. I'm thinking though I might just enter my card details as I did PayPal for 4090 and did not get **** lol

With PayPal you have a choice to link to a card or to a bank account or check out as a guest using a card. Maybe there is a difference in speed if using the bank account method.

I paid with the credit card linked to my PP account.

I have my debit card, credit card and bank account linked to my PP account. The cards are always instant (or thereabouts) but if I pay with my linked bank account it doesn't leave my account for days as it's direct debit.

I paid direct with a virgin credit card, as the recommendation is to use debit/credit card I presumed it would have been almost instant after verifying payment but that appears to not be the case (I'd like to be wrong!).

It's makes perfect sense if stock is finite and payment hasn't cleared then you get skipped over until it's paid but as the shipment was heavily delayed for stock it seems a bit daft to rely on payment date rather than order submitted date providing the funds have cleared.

If it is truly in the third batch then at the moment it's looking entirely possible it could be as late as Christmas week if it's anywhere in December, it's a bit first world problems for sure but still annoying none the less when the whole point of preordering is to secure your space in line, I thought I'd just be waiting for it to arrive from customs as it showed.

I think for future OCUK if you do arrange by payment cleared date it would be sensible to expose that in the order info area so customers can at least see for themselves that rather than going off the assumption that order submitted is the queue.

Hopefully batch 3 isn't that slow and AMD speed up shipments, was meant to be selling this current system this week to a friend who is waiting, silly me!

From what I can gather, wave 1 is now apparently shipped (pre-14:15, although it appears even people within that timeframe haven't got theirs). Wave 2 is apparently due next week with 80 units arriving Monday and another 50 on Wednesday. I would be surprised if that covers everyone from 14:15-14:45 (wave 2) and those in wave 1 who haven't had theirs.

This is just from what I can make out from Gibbo's posts, happy to be corrected!

Yes I would also be surprised if that would clear wave 2, but they did say the concentration of orders was in Wave 1 so we can hope. Would be nice to hear something next week so not in limbo with buying other parts. The sales begin next Thursday so I would like to get some other components then. Like others I don't want to over commit if the CPU is not coming soonish.

Unfortunately, we're unable to provide batch information and queue positions.

We're expecting 3 batches of the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, and our recommendation is to keep a close eye on your emails for the latest shipment information.

Batch 1 orders were dispatched the week commencing the 11th of November.

Batch 2 orders will be dispatched early-mid next week.

Batch 3 orders are due to be dispatched in December, however there is no concrete information to specify when in December at this time.

Any other item which was in stock at the time of placing your order will be reserved until we're able to fulfil the entirety of your order.

We appreciate your patience.

Got this from CS just now (I know we were asked to not ask CS for estimated times, but I was in contact to change delivery method and they said to ask if I had any other questions...). I think it's a copypasta that's been posted before.

Basically, if you don't get an email next week, you're SOOTL until December sometime.

So just to confirm should I have received two emails; one an order confirmation and one an order processed?? As I have only received one email so far

Same copypasta I received.

You'd think right? They support cutting edge tech like passkeys on the forum but can't do a simple query to figure out orders to ship based or order time if payment has cleared
