AMD Bulldozer Finally!

Has it been confirmed how many pins the actual CPU uses yet? I've seen confirmation for the socket but who says we need to snap any pins on the CPU?

Would make sense to make them Physically incompatible if they're not going to (or AMD don't want them to) work though.

The other thing is I should hope motherboard manufacturers have been told what they need to design in getting Bulldozer to work. Maybe someone from AMD should give MSI a ring to make sure theyve read the design plans right and not stuck an AM3 socket on their Bulldozer ready line. They wont be happy bunnys if they have to send out a free hacksaw to cut a pin off as well as a bios update to get it to work. :)

Is there even a rough estimate as to the release day for BD ? Always been a big fan of AMD but im very close to upgrading to the 2500k at the back end of march. If BDs out shortly after then I may wait to see how it fares.

Yes, hmmm... I'll take this with a pinch of salt. Funny how they first start a task that would completely cripple the Intel. We get it, the Sandybridge is a bit crap at games and keeps throttling... Of course it's gonna struggle after that :)

I'd love it if it was true though, without the marketing BS. Would be awesome to finally have a decent AMD product in laptops (apart from Zacate, which is looking great already). It does look like a very decent platform noneless, although 55W power draw on laptop CPU is quite massive already (still less than the i7, if this is to be believed).
