AMD Bulldozer Finally!

"everyone is assuming BD will launch in two weeks, but AMD said Q2, and that could mean at the end of June.

They might show something in two weeks, but that could just be Llano....

And theres some failed logic behind that statement about delays. If the motherboard makers really needed production samples and they have got none, they wouldn't be able to release their motherboards in early june. But since we all know there is finished motherboards ready to be shipped they obviously didn't need working production samples. And since they didn't need them AMD have no reason to hand samples out to possible leaks.

So, that motherboard makers don't have the chips don't mean anything. I don't say BD can't be delayed. But I do say that it don't need to be delayed for motherboard makers to have none."

This is stupid, they can't delay it anymore surely. I got cash waiting for a cpu and motherboard and am seriously considering a Z68+2500K

same here but i'm thinking about getting P67+2500K+8GB DDR3 :)

or better wait for the sandybridge-E 6 core cpu (Q3 2011) i'm sure it will destroy the best of the Bulldozers.

nice mobos but I wonder if these AMD mobos will have anything similar or Lucid technology with them?

It would be disgusting if only the Z68 boards had them....

If AMD are really delayed past summer, then Intel have again owned another year.

A Core i7-2500k + Z68 + 8gig DDR3 + Agility SSD is sounding so sweet right now :)

"LucidLogix has designed the Virtu technology so that it would allow for on-the-fly switching between the Sandy Bridge on-die GPU and a discrete graphics card"

Why would it, these havent got on-die GPU's. (Yet, I think) Bit like me saying its disgusting that Z68 boards dont carry an AM3+ socket??

The CHIV extreme already has Lucid Hydra if you mean that Lucid tech?

fact. amd at computex.

Funny, latest leaked AMD documents (today) say E3 not Computex.

Personally, I think E3 is absurd. Computex makes infinitely more sense as it is hardware-centric, whereas E3 has traditionally been the preserve of software (i.e. game) releases.

But either way, they're roughly a week apart so it's neither here nor there in the grand scheme of things.

Leaked AMD slide clearly states Zambezi launch at E3:

*** No Hotlinking please ***

Now, whether or not this is a fake, been edited etc is up for debate, but an E3 launch is not improbable. After all, it is the consumer electronics show with the largest media reach (media only event, attracts more than any other show etc) and if they're planning on showing it off as a gaming grade chip (i.e. hook it up with 3+ GPUs and Eyefinity running Crysis 2 at 300fps) then E3 potentially makes more sense than Computex. IF, and only if, AMD head down the marketing route of chasing fanboy gamers.

Not long til Computex to find out anyway. If the above slide is true, I will probably nerdgasm to death. Bulldozer and SW:TOR announcements in the space of < 1 week will be too much for me to handle ;)

What do the rumours suggest about pricing?

http://www.guru3d.com/news/amd-bulldozer-llano-pricing-surface/ this list has been circulating the 'net to a point at which it is unanimously believed to be true. Again, with all rumours, this is never the case until an official announcement.

Intel already owned this year, easily, even with they P67 problem, which they solved not that badly to be fair.
Look how many ppl got Sandy and how they happy with it,doing 4.8-5ghz on air..
amd should already released they bd,any company with little bit of brains will do that, its clear they have some problems with it,they cant even officially say when is real launch date, and when retail will get those cpu's,they dont even know themselves probably.
It will be miracle if they launch it in june (even tho it will be just paper launch, retail will get them much later)
Really happy i went with Sandy like many others without waiting "another 25days",what becomes more like another 25 months

The reason it's not released is probably because it wasn't/isn't ready...
Too much comedy speculation in this thread and far too much ridiculous "AMD SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS, I'M EXTREME GOOD AT BUSINESS!!!!!" style postings in this thread.

If you need to buy a new setup right away and you have zero patience. Buy a SB setup.. If not, wait and see, it's extremely easy.

The UK sites, as far as I know, haven't got ES.
And the board makers say they haven't had ES yet either.
So production samples in March? Doesn't sound likely.

Q3, however could mean July 1st.
We'll have to wait until E3 to see exactly how it pans out, and if they really are delayed.

Aye, as I said it's pure speculation and that slide could be from a year ago and thus well out of date, but worth a notice anyway. :)

That being said, aren't ES covered by the NDA and thus any testing/finding/information cannot be disclosed in the media until the NDA is lifted? Maybe that is why we do not know of any UK media having ES? Just a thought.

But as you said, both Computex and E3 are a matter of days away, so I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. I would imagine it's pretty certain that AMD will be at at least one, if not both, of them.

No, that is not right.

HT tries to execute 2 threads on a single core.

We are running 2 threads on 2 cores.

Completely different.

You misunderstand me, the two technologies are not similar in practice, I know this. What I was saying is that Intel's desktop and server chips both utilise similar technologies, much the same as AMD's will, this does not mean that Bulldozer will be a server-orientated chip and us regular consumers will be left out in the cold.

Given we are so close supposedly to launch a bit of info coming out wouldn't hurt and if nothing else some clarification on these delay rumours would be good any chance of a comment on that JF ?.

I'd guess it's to prevent immediately publishable Internet media from getting the scoop on slower print media, but that's just an educated guess from having seen other tech companies do the same for big announcements. I'm sure JF is much more well-versed as to what exactly is going on though.
