**AMD Fiji Thread**

To be fair thats not quite true. The new drivers for the 300 series work fine with the 200 series by just modifying the inf.

People are reporting 10 fps more in Witcher with their 290x cards which is a 20% gain.

I cant see any reason why these couldnt have been released as beta for the 200 series now.

I'm not so sure, i think this is just a situation that's game related.
In this link they proved the 390x clock for clock is the same http://www.hardocp.com/article/2015/06/18/msi_r9_390x_gaming_8g_video_card_review/9#.VYM5uEZiMvx

So Gimping the 200 series to make the 300 series look better than they actually are hey! :D

Do you have proof and testing for this? A handful have flashed to the 390x BIOS, I know that much.

Is there such a thing as overkill? One begs to differ Sir Taken.

Embrace the Fury X and experience something new, something different, something cool and something quiet. Oh, and something fast. :D

I'm not sure if my wallet is as willing to Embrace the experience as I am :p

Depends how you want to play frankly, though with a 1900x1200 screen I'd guess it's not 120hz+?

The monitor is a SyncMaster 2433BW :o

I've not flashed the bios, just loaded the modded inf. 3dmark strike scores up 9.1%.

Ive just run Mordor on ultra in 4k with the texture pack and got the following

Max 140 fps
Average 77 fps
Min 21

It did dip twice right near the beginning to 21 fps but never again during the benchmark.

Im quite happy for 2 290x cards which cost me £260 for the pair :D

For 2?

It's interesting how the Fury wins every test and then loses every test once both cards are overclocked.

Hmm, let's be honest the fury x is basically on par with the 980ti.

So buyers choosing the fury get an nice cool and quiet AIO cooled card whist with the 980ti you get gameworks that is in some big AAA titles and an extra 2GB vram. Tough choice, I would probably go with ti for the better feature set.

The Fury is only overclocked by 100mhz from what AMD said. We don't know what the gtx980ti overclock is. It could be way higher but we should know better when decent overclockers get a hold of them and add some voltage. Memory overclocking is going to be interesting as well.
