**AMD Fiji Thread**

I just love the minimalist, industrial design, braided tubing, topped off with load power LED's.

Gorgeous.

And I want one!

Just a bit worried about AMD driver support.

Don't be amd driver are running great, no black screen crashing working as they should..
The only thing and need to work more on is crossfire support for some games but most of the time this isn't an issue..

Single gpu driver support is great.

Its going to improve on crossfire with Dx12.
single card driver is awesome for what I used it for.

Lets hope the usual people dont feel the need to ruin this thread like they did the last one.

Although saying that, I think a lot of people cant quite handle how wrong their predictions were so are more likely to keep hushed.

I do genuinely think AMD have been focused on DX12 features for a long time, fighting to get MS to add them in before forcing the issue with Mantle.

I think in DX12 games pre Maxwell v2 stuff vs older GCN stuff will be a bit of a white wash. Fury x vs Maxwell V2, still think AMD have been building an architecture for that is optimised for such features for a long time and will have an advantage, time will tell.

It won't be relevant and I wouldn't advise anyone to buy a AMD gpu because of it either, but I'd like to compare performance of the 'current' architectures (Fermi through V2 Maxwell and GCN 1.0 through 1.2) on DX12 only engines. Games built from the ground up not to work within the confines and limits of DX11. Games probably 2-3 years away. As said current gpu performance won't be particularly relevant then at all, just will be interested to see how all these cards do on such games.

I'm interested in the Fury X but one thing I would like to know is are there going to be any after market water blocks (EK) as I really don't want to use the built in water cooling rad/pump combo. Not even sure if I have the space for it as I'm running all custom water inside my Phanteks Luxe.

The only place I might be able to mount it is where the rear 140mm fan is in my case, but then again it will be a tight squeeze as my case is jammed packed with radiators. Depends on how thick the rad/pump is.

looks great card

no HDMI 2.0 seems a very very strange design decision

especially if Nano also doesn't - as that looks near perfect HTPC/ ITX - lounge PC type of gaming/htpc card

I think both companies dislike HDMI as NV also snubbed it by only providing electrical compatibility and not adhering to spec.

I have a feeling they want DP to succeed so they pay less money for ports.

I must admit, I was expecting a bigger gap than what those AMD benchmarks showed. It's nice that people can now get TX performance for cheaper though :)

This is the crux (for me).

And or £549 v £650 (EVGA 980 Ti Hybrid), you're getting newer tech (HBM), better cooling, and a vastly (IMO) better looking card, designed from the ground up to be AIO.

Is there any downside to AIO cooling? Do the tubes corrode over 5 years or sommat, or are they just as reliable as air cooled solutions?

And if those results are true, with a "wonder driver" it will be the clear winner on performance across the board.

I'm not expecting drivers to be perfect out the gate with a new arch and HBM.
