**AMD Fiji Thread**

Weird move from AMD !!

AMD withdraw KitGuru Fury X sample over ‘negative content’

"On the 11th June AMD informed us via email that the upcoming FIJI hardware was reserved for KitGuru, as would normally be the case. We subsequently set a plan in motion to analyse the hardware for launch and were awaiting the arrival of the sample. Earlier this week I had a call from Christine Brown, Senior Manager, EMEA Communications at AMD to let me know that the company had withdrawn their sample from KitGuru labs and that we would now not be involved at all in the launch next week.
Christine Browne informed me directly on the phone that the reason for withdrawing the sample was based on ‘KitGuru’s negative stance towards AMD’. She said that with limited product they wanted to focus on giving the samples to publications that are ‘more positive’ about AMD as a brand, and company. I was not informed during this call of anything we have published that was factually incorrect, we were also not told to edit or remove any content we had published. Based on what AMD had seen via KitGuru editorial in recent weeks it was felt that overall coverage was just too negative.

isn't kit guru the ones who made that video about how reviewers dont get samples to test before E3 ?

In your original reply you asked if this (ROP number) also affected the texture fill rate number....was just noting that TMU is the number that affects texture fill rate.

Yeah so what you are saying is that if ROPs are 64 / 128 Fill rate won't be affected as long as TMUs are 256?

I think 256 TMUs is confirmed, it's ROPs that we aren't 100% about.

if it's 64/128 like you mention, that would mean 128 TMUs - it would have to be 64/256 in that GPU-Z ROP/TMU box.

They are simple calculations:

Pixel fill rate = ROPs x core clock

Texture Fill Rate = TMUs x core clock

There you go boom

I'm hoping these are available to buy on the 24th, I reckon stock will be limited! I'm only half hour from the shop so hopefully I can pick it up on Wednesday morning!

Every story I see about the lack of HDMI 2.0 seems to link back to the comment AMDMatt made on this forum, and last I heard he was going to clarify. It's got to be a fairly simple "yes/no". They should get a confirmation out soon so that us angry raging types can just throw our money at nVidia and everyone can move on with their lives.

Already confirmed isn't it?
