*** AMD FRIDAY: SO WHO WANTS A FREE BURGER & SOME EPIC AMD DEALS??? ***

I could send it by collect+ insured, that's about £6 I think, and easier than going to the PO.

The plan was to get a GTX 670 until the 9970 came out, and wait for it to fall in price. But with a 7990 I'd not need to bother.

You just want more Unigine benches ;)

Now you mention it one of the HD 7990s thrashed my GTX 690.:D:)

Think you don't qualify lookin at the OP....
'Also when you buy a 7750 or higher from the above cards you will get the following FREE Games worth well over £100'...

Hmm doesn't say that in the GD thread:

FREE GAMES - ONLY WHILST STOCK LAST!!

Also when you buy one of these cards you will get the following FREE Games worth well over £100:-
- Farcry3
- Farcry 3 Blood
- Crysis 3
- Tomb Raider
- Bioshock Infinite
- SimCity

These games are limited to the first 250 orders placed, as such we strongly advice you order quickly to ensure you get all the games listed above, and yes these games are with all the cards, even the 6450!

Oh and of course a FREE BURGER!!!**

Grr. Decisions..decisions!
MSI 6950 currently one week into RMA process.
Do I
1. Wait for RMA to complete - potentially 3 weeks to go.
2. Gamble that they might send a 7950 back.
3. Buy the 7950 here (and keep Mrs happy with less fan noise)
4. Buy the 7970.

How long will these roughly be at these prices?

Hi all
Am in two minds on this offer. My old mobo (p67a-ud3-b3) has two pciex (2.0) lanes, which degrade to 4x 4x when in crossfire mode according to the specs. So adding another 7950 might hit performance quite a lot-anyone have direct experience (have read a lot of the stuff online but most refers to crossfire of older 5xx0 GPUs where bandwidth was still not too big an issue) ? If the hit was too bad I could either get a 7990 for the current board or swap for a newer (z55?) mobo, CPU and second 7950 for the same price ish.

Am gearing up for BF4 and Arma 3 (CPU intensive) over three screens.

You're looking at about 5% performance hit maybe a bit more. What you will find is the gpu in the x4 slot works around 80-90% usage. I'd still recommend crossfire to someone with a motherboard like this, but you should make sure the next thing you upgrade is the mobo as soon as you can to get the most from your gpu's.

That Msi TF III 7950 is so worth the £14 over the cheaper version, however I have decided I can manage fine with one 7950 until xmas when I will re-evaluate and see what price the 9950 are and how they perform. I'm so tempted to xfire but bottom line is I don't need the performance. :)

Thanks all - I think I will try a CF 7950 setup on the current mobo and look to a beefier mobo when the performance needs of BF4 and Arma3 are clearer. The 7950 price is too good to pass up imho.

Good to see everyone happy at all these deals, weather Nvidia or AMD. I will say those 7990 cards are very cheap. It should have been at that price from the start.

I'll wait for either the new AMD or 800 series before upgrading again, but tbh I'm very happy with what I have right now.

Are we going to see some tech lab 7990's for say, £630-640???

As it is the tech lab 7990's are £1k+!!

Edit: hmm 7990 QF and forget about benching? Toughy :(
