AMD Navi 23 ‘NVIDIA Killer’ GPU Rumored to Support Hardware Ray Tracing, Coming Next Year

cancel it mate. nvidia are a joke
I would, but I have two G-Sync panels here, also I am mainly upgrading for Cyberpunk 2077 which I do think will be better optimised for Nvidia. Been running AMD cards on my G-sync monitor since I sold my Titan XP about a year or two ago, lol. Fancy my G-sync back :D

Not sure what your point is here?

Im wanting a new gpu soon and big navi has piqued my interest. I will get one if its good, or ill get an nvidia card if they are better price / perf.

I'm not biased.

I just dont know why people feel a need to bemoan console capability when they are never going to match pc hardware costing vastly more money. My mondeo won't be as nice as a Bentley. That doesn't surprise me.

Just doing my part calling out EcH’s ******** about next gen consoles beating nvidia in raytracing ( 2xxx series ).

It’s obvious, yet no one counters that bs, yet they attack me instead. Just look at the replies i got / get @Th0nt, @DDH. Funny how that works eh?

They don’t even bother arguing what is being posted, but instead attack with insults. You know why, everyone knows why, except maybe themselves?
:D

Fresh leaks:
TBP Navi 21
XL 290w
XT 320w
XT oc 355w (if this is not going to kick the 3090 I don't know what will, salt advised as always)

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-rad...1-xt-to-feature-320w-tgp-16-gbps-gddr6-memory

I wonder why AMD has decided to clock these so high. Do they smell blood in the water or is it to keep up? We will soon find out.

Something else i noted from Igor's article

Cards, such as a Sapphire Nitro or Asus Strix (which in turn should only be able to withstand MLCC), are expected to be delivered in smaller, technically feasible quantities as early as mid-November, while other manufacturers will (have to) allow themselves time until the end of November.

If this is correct we can conclude that AMD will either
1. Launch their Reference design before AIBs therefore expect to see RDNA 2 launching around the same time as consoles or before (early November).
2. Launch their Reference design at the same time as AIBs therefore expect to see RDNA 2 mid november.

As I understand it, it won’t arrive for at least another 4 weeks. You guys will end up with your Navi cards before I recon. Lol.

Pathetic launch by Nvidia.

Mate, it annoys me as when we talked about it the week after the pre-orders, nvidia die-hards were sniping at us for pointing out the bigger VRAM cards were on the horizon with Ti/Supers also inbound. Not what they wanted to hear but it was easy to see there was no stock for any etailer, and the vacuum of silence from OcUK says it all. Out of spite I would not cancel and pickup a 3070 even if they were in stock as your getting an inferior card, but I can see lots of people doing it out of desperation.

Very interesting reading here

Edit: this is the article Videocardz info is based on, some interesting tidbits here, including a brief show of Morepowertool info

I hope it's not that power hungry. I'm all ready planning to undervolt / frame cap my 3080 when it arrives as I can't stand heat. I've been keeping an eye on Navi just in case the RT performance comes close to the 3080 but with less heat.

Yes, soon:)

No man 355w looks like a 3090 killer for much less $$$...
You would probably like to do a bit of voltage tuning inline with TBP to max clock speeds.. (which might result in a slight overvolt)
as you've suggested, can always use FRTC or AMD Chill to keep power consumption low in older games

Edit: RGT Paul should've more spicy details to add in today's video

It be a wash meaning games you play will just be indifferent to another in whatever card you use but for marketing purposes if the card is let say 5% faster its then 5% faster not you know, matching but faster and then AMD has the gaming crown with cpu and gpu.
Then its game over :D

What seems to happen from what I have observed is people project and assume the worst once they either identify the said person as a fanboy for the other side or just plain do not agree with them. I try my best to read what is said and avoid all that.

Like for example, when I go on about 10Gb being enough for me, some will automatically assume I am defending Nvidia. I am not fan of Nvidia and you won't catch me defending them. I try and discuss the particular issue and explain how I arrive at my conclusions. It does not bother me if other cards have more vram for example, with regards to Nvidia more vram will mean they will charge more (unless AMD force their hand) and as for AMD I already decided I am going Nvidia so they could stick 128GB on big navi and it would not make a difference to me because 10gb will do the job for me until next gen.

In the past I actually would have argued 10gb is not enough, but that was before I understood how it all works and that there is a difference between what is cached and what is actually needed before performance actually falls of a cliff due to their not being enough.

As a vega user, I have instinct now just to undervolt and tame the clocks :)
I had a Vega card for nearly 2 years by the way. Also I have more than one PC in the house, the other machine has a RX 580 in it. Though that machine has a crappy dual core Intel Haswell CPU in it (still super snappy for day to day use as I overclocked it to 4.5GHz). Soon it will get my Ryzen 3600, well in 2022 when I grab a cheap 5900X for my main PC :D

Balanced opinion.. Nvidia will still have RT perf.. this won't be a total defeat even if the 355w Navi comes in striking distance of 3090..good times for gaming from a pricing perspective though

Yup, only Nvidia have the RT on Cyberpunk launch, AMD getting it, sometime next year, so lets hope, the difference between on and off is minimal, like it has been up to now. :p

You can see why Nvidia like proprietary technology and game tie-ins. It sells cards whether you want one or not ;)

Indeed, that said, never stopped me buying AMD cards, I have had more AMD cards (for longer period) on this G-Sync monitor than Nvidia one's. Lol.

All depends on what games are coming out. There has not been any big titles for me for the past couple of years at least. But with the likes of Cyberpunk 2077, Dying Light 2 and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 which all have either RT, DLSS (or both) together with G-Sync, it becomes a no brainer don't you think?

I get the feeling the RT might be a bit better on Cyberpunk than what we have seen so far in other games. At least I hope so anyways :p

Yeah, hopefully be a showcase, if so, Nvidia will sell a load of cards off the back of it.

I know, your one of the reasonable people on here that can discuss maturely even if we don't agree exactly on things, generally as a gamer or a PC enthusiast I will advise or offer opinion on someones best interest - not because I am swayed by a brand.

In the earlier example I was hinting that some of the mindshare buyers should rethink their brand loyalty after experiencing a poor service (some are very unhappy, some are being childish - it wont make the component appear in stock any faster). Others dance around who is to blame, be it ocuk, shippers, AIB partners etc. but to me I would look at the announcement, how it was hyped then conclude a rushed paper style launch and it should be nvidia publicly stepping up to the plate and saying they screwed up would be a start.

Nvidia also have a far superior software suite.

Are you being serious? In an AMD hype thread..
