AMD Navi 23 ‘NVIDIA Killer’ GPU Rumored to Support Hardware Ray Tracing, Coming Next Year

Indeed, that said, never stopped me buying AMD cards, I have had more AMD cards (for longer period) on this G-Sync monitor than Nvidia one's. Lol.

All depends on what games are coming out. There has not been any big titles for me for the past couple of years at least. But with the likes of Cyberpunk 2077, Dying Light 2 and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 which all have either RT, DLSS (or both) together with G-Sync, it becomes a no brainer don't you think?

I get the feeling the RT might be a bit better on Cyberpunk than what we have seen so far in other games. At least I hope so anyways :p

Yes, less of an issue if you buy high end and don't need the Gsync or Freesync to kick in.

In the earlier example I was hinting that some of the mindshare buyers should rethink their brand loyalty after experiencing a poor service (some are very unhappy, some are being childish - it wont make the component appear in stock any faster). Others dance around who is to blame, be it ocuk, shippers, AIB partners etc. but to me I would look at the announcement, how it was hyped then conclude a rushed paper style launch and it should be nvidia publicly stepping up to the plate and saying they screwed up would be a start.

They likely won't to be honest. At least not based on how many reacted with the 970 3.5GB memory situation.

As I recall they were livid at Nvidia. What did they do? They sent back the 970 and added a lot more money to it and purchased a 980. LOL. That will teach them!! :p

Loved this:

The WCCF article suggests that its going to be single bounce RT.. so shadows and mirrors only, no GI, atleast thats what i could gather
The article references a developer interview in a magazine, so maybe a subscriber can shine more light on this
.. its the same that (indirectly) suggests RT support in Navi might be delayed
But yes, you till have DLSS 2.0 and RTX Voice

As I understand it, it won’t arrive for at least another 4 weeks. You guys will end up with your Navi cards before I recon. Lol.

Pathetic launch by Nvidia.

Gibbo just posted today that for popular makes like Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, EVGA it isnt looking likely that preorders will be fulfilled until 2021.

Some people have another 11 weeks of waiting yet......................

RTX Voice built into Cyberpunk 2077? Why?

That is because those brands have queues in the thousands. If you are under say 100, surely they should get you a card in the next 4 weeks?

Shadows and mirrors is fine by me, as long as it is done well I will be happy.

I am not following development closely but there's going to be some kind of multiplayer component to it..
It will also include nvidia Reflex, forgot to mention it
its going to be a tight nvidia bearhug that one
I'm surprised they are going to build it into the voice chat component of a game. Does anyone even usein-game voice chat?

Nvidia are going to make Cyberpunk 2077 a showcase piece for their tech, and then we won't here about any of these things till RTX 4000. I wonder how much all this development is going to cost and if there is going to be any tangible benefit to the end user.

Ouch, 11 weeks potentially on some cards ontop of the current wait...

Lets hope AMD have stock, cant wait to play Cyberpunk on the inferior AMD 6900 series without any Ray Tracing or DLSS, aslong as it can feed my 100hz 3440x1440p screen at decent settings its all good :)

Id hate to be one the people who sold their current card prior to the Ampere launch in anticipation abd are now sat twiddling thumbs

I'm okay with that. Gives me plenty of time to cancel if Navi's RT is up to the task.

I said this earlier on the thread, doesnt surprise me if Nvidia have paid off CDPR to showcase their junk to try and keep people from cancelling their ampere orders and to keep consoles and AMD cards at bay

This is the leverage having the share of the market they have, brings. And it is not good for any gamer even Nvidia ones, as it just serves to keep prices inflated, gen after gen.

Seriously Nvidia are just the outright worst company, good products, terrible ethics

What he said was "Of course, very popular cards from the bigger brands such as Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte and MSI will take longer for backorders to be fulfilled and presently those manufacturers cannot give us shipping info far enough in advance to know if they can clear all our backorders off in 2020. We feel these manufacturers will not be able to give us concrete information until the end of November." Not quite what was suggested.

Agreed, it's good that these things are more visible than they used to. I love how some companies talk about their Green credentials, and modern slavery policies and how low carbon they are. Then proceed to sting their customers for as much as they can, whilst cutting corners. It's a general corporate trend at the moment, ruthless greed. I'm pro capitalism too, but never underestimate the human element ;)

I have an account on GOG.. they were running a Cyberpunk branded RTX 2080 Ti giveaway a couple of months ago
Something like ubisoft is doing for 3080 with watchdogs.. (maybe CDPR will do one more with 3080)
So, these speculations regarding an optimised Cyberpunk experience on nvidia are reasonable enough
Nvidia is like a full package deal.. its a very strong market position, need more competition

Well the 3070 launch is going to be a damp squib as well as Denmark's biggest etailer who ordered 5000 cards of all makes have been told they will only have 2.5% of their order in stock for launch day.

Imagine how few there would have been on the original launch day?

Let's hope there's nothing secretly being ray traced to kill performance on rival hardware ;)

I know, they pushed back a week for 'reasons..' yet it seems clear now they cant fulfil any promises this year as no matter what excuse you give they never made enough! They should have delayed the pre-order date and trickled out the 3090, then 3080, then 3070 starting from October, but here we are.
