Most of these techtubers are ****. They have a team to scrounge the internet for all kinds of rumors so they can make a ****** 10+ min video for max earnings, tickle fanboys, and get that ad revenue.

It’s 2020. You’d think people wouldnt fall for this **** no more like it’s 2010. Why can’t people just wait for the official sources and act like adults instead of following the daily YT rumor beats me.

At least if you wanna go for the rumors, stop promoting these useless yt’ers.

That's really not what he said. I'm not rushing to Tom's defence, but since his channel started he's been beset with the usual "but you just make things up" accusations and people crying when information he 100% presented and clarified as rumour and speculation was taken as gospel truth and then somehow was used as ammunition to discredit him when things didn't pan out.

He's never claimed anything as fact and when his information is bad he freely says so. But so far, what exactly has he been wrong about? Big Navi is shaping up exactly how his sources have stated for months, the only thing truly wrong with his Ampere info was RT performance, of which he's said he was genuinely stunned about, Zen 3 is pretty much as he's reported on as well as all of the APUs.
Unfortunately, this takes critical thinking. And not have an inward desire to be spoon feed like a toddler.

Not with someone who has first hand knowledge. If i work at company X and I have information about product Z, i say product Z performs like this, in these, scenarios, with these conditions. If I have to caveat my information with "should", it's because i heard some guy talking in the cafeteria and should probably keep my mouth shut
But he doesn't have first hand knowledge, and he's never claimed to have. His information comes from others connected to Nvidia, Intel, AMD and others. Those sources themselves aren't always engineers or developers directly working on the products. This is the rumour mill, this is how it works, and MLID is one of the few I've seen who actually caveats his information with "should", because there is no way he can confirm anything as fact because he is not first person.

Now, if it turns out that Nvidia's AIBs are not even remotely unhappy, let alone "******" at the 3080 20GB and 3070 16GB cancellations, then you can call Tom out on it because he did say "I have spoken to some of them directly", but even that isn't first hand knowledge.

If these cards really are the business anyone with a g-sync monitor going to get one? Would be the only thing holding me back back an all red new build.

Currently using a 27" IPS g-sync monitor, as last few GPU's have been nvidia (970>980Ti>1080Ti) but I'm currently looking for a monitor that is IPS, ultrawide, that supports both Free/G-sync as I want to keep Variable refresh - which is something I'm not willing to give up now I'm so used to it, as it makes a massive difference.

I just don't want to be tied down to a specific GPU vendor in order to keep VRR. So I'm currently looking at a Iiyam 34" IPS ultrawide, as this supports both AMD/Nvidia

Why can’t people just wait for the official sources and act like adults
Well Nvidia's official Ampere information was utter ********* lies yet everybody seemingly is throwing money at preorders and crying like children because they're not getting their cards within a couple of hours.

So much for "waiting for official sources and acting like adults".

Shaping up how his sources have said? All the information he is repeating can be found on twitter from the usual suspects before it's made in to a video, ie rogame.

Right now he is claiming the 6800xt is 72-80cus with a clock speed of 2.15 to 2.3. that is a guess, pure and simple and its based on deductive reasoning, not sources.

I've never said he's been wrong at all, infact I've watched him for a while now and he's been decently accurate, what I said is I don't like the self congratulatory way throughout the whole last video he said "as I've said", " as I reported"... it became really tiresome very quickly was all... we all know what he's reported... I think a lot of his stuff has been spot on, but I can't bare to watch "see I was right, I was right" for 15 minutes... not my thing... if you're right, you're viewers will know your right.

However, personally has his information giving me more than I could've concluded myself? Probably not, infact very very little. The guy seems an ok guy and he's been decently accurate in what he's said... but I've probably not learned anything new, more confirmed what I was thinking myself anyway (from my own sources which aren't secret sources lol)... but then again that's not levelled at him, it's more levelled at any of the tech tubers. It's like I can't bear to listen to posh paul is it? Can't think of the guy now... it's just a personal thing, I get annoyed within 15 seconds lol

EDIT: BTW, we're all guessing and making assumption on leaks etc, absolutely no one right now has FACTS unless they can back it up with an AMD approved logo... the fact is that probably most of the recent stats on 6000 series right now aren't far off the mark now... no smoke without fire so the stats are probably give or take right now... IMHO

then wait for amd’s official ******** information and stop promoting these useless wannabes ? Fyi im referring to all ‘techtubers’, including all the Nvidia , Amd, xbox and sony ones.

Hey, I have no issue with somebody spoon feeding me. Between work and life commitments I have zero time to do any research or reading myself, so I'm happy somebody feeding me. But I'm also not going to take what is fed to me as gospel truth just because somebody claims to have sources, and I'm certainly not going to accuse them of "making stuff up" when from day one they have prefixed literally everything with "inch of salt", "this is speculation", "I trust my sources but nothing is confirmed".

I think the main thing I wanna know now is pricing, have to admit, these benchmarking figures are better than I expected on the "leaked benchmarks" but were what I dreamt off for Navi... however, if every card costs a fortune, then... it's irelevant to a certain extent... think I'd love to see the 6800XT at £499 and the 6900XTX at what, £699... however that's not gonna happen...

so I'll take a stab right now and say I reckon... the one I really dont' know is the 6900XT and will they just price this mental at £1,499, they'd be idiots if they do... so... I'll stick with this...

6900XT = £899
6800XT = £699
6700XL = £499

Decently accurate? his "exclusives" have been complete and utterly wrong the rest of the time he has covered the complete range of possible scenarios sometimes contradicting himself 1-2 videos later - when he has been correct it is by chance within a bunch of wrong information and/or repeating after the fact certain twitter users.

Sure you can point to a video where he has got it right but that is ignoring that within a small number of videos he has also covered other possibilities in the same manner.

I hope the 6800XT isn't £699!

I was hoping for an absolute max of £549 with AIB's max of £599

I was being polite lol... there's nto a single techtuber I'd watch with 100% confidence at all, however, some of the things he's said I've agreed with and some I didn't. I agree he's been wrong, he's been right... whether that's blind luck or not, no skin off my nose... like I say, it all adds to all the leaks, theories etc... and if taken as fun and doing no harm, I don't see the problem. however like I said above, I'm unsubscibed from him as I've learnt very little... but then again I generally learn little from any of them./ I prefer the fun ones like Jay who explodes **** up lol and even he's annoyed me lately...

Unfornatley I think it will be. Judging by how they priced their 5000 series CPU's recently i.e. at INTEL prices or certainly not CHEAP as such... AMD as stated a few times not wanting to be classed as the budget solution anymore, they want the limelight... now, you can see this two ways... get in the limelight by being amazing to your customers and giving us a fair deal... however you can see that they also have to make money, the R&D money that's gone into 6000 series would be scary if we found out and they want the pickings of it... I just can't see my prices being too high, if anythign unfortunatley I think they could be too low... and I'm trying to be positive...

We shall see..

Just wondering, navi 2 hasn't shown delays has it? I know people complained that the navi 2 announcement came some time after the Ampere revealing but thats not to say its delayed, just AMD sticking to schedule?

This is discounting any production volume of the product, I honestly think theres gonna be plentiful amount (still not enough maybe for the demand) but decent amount for people to own in their systems.

We all have busy lives. But this is just a hobby. And I just won't agree with anyone who takes a graphic card so seriously that any rumored information is scrutinized for not being fact.

Everything discussed in this thread alone has given us enough insight that anything provided on YouTube is rehashed info. So in hindsight it becomes information overload when the finer details are hypothesize.

Point being we have enough info right to know what to expect. Being spoon feed "reassurances" becomes completely distasteful and unsightly. Just wait for release in 4 days. When we all will know the actual truth.

At this point all we need to know is what they're charging for their product. We all know the AMD is coming into the higher end GPU market for the first time in what a decade? So the expectation is that they shouldn't price their products but so high. At least for this generation. But we will see.

Nope, all on time, the only thing we all want nwo is when available... and that will be announced on Wednesday...
