Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. Ahh but that is just the norm for today's click-bait sites. I would be happy with that performance as long as its around half the price of a 2080Ti.
i would also be happy with that, as it shows they're going in the right direct. . . however, there are people that would slam it because its only as good as 2yr old tech.
I hope the rumor is true that Navi has over 16GB of vram. That would solve a lot of bandwidth concerns when it come to these future console ports.
As ugly as it is it still looks better than amd reference designs lol
The reported internal 'killer' comment originally reported was not about the Halo product but about the smaller development die. Navi 23 s the smallest chip of the bunch. 21 is the Halo product. If true, it backs up your point about it being a killer in regards to price/performance but leaves halo product performance open to interpretation.
...and the 3070 or 3080 doesn't achieve the same result with DLSS and better RT then "half the price" isn't the right price for AMDi would also be happy with that, as it shows they're going in the right direct. . . however, there are people that would slam it because its only as good as 2yr old tech.
Personally I’d be more than happy with that. I would like the price a little lower though.Even if it's 2080ti performance or a bit more for a more realistic price i don;t see how that's a bad thing. The price is whats keeping a lot of people away from buying the 2080ti so if amd can pull that performance +10% or so for maybe £650-700 or so then its all good.
As is usually the case, then again there are people that will go boogaloo if it doesn't crush the forthcoming 3080ti.

yeah exactly, id take 2080ti performance at a reasonable price all day long.
Oh yeah, and its continuing as the moniker seems to be drifting to reference 'big navi' instead of the mainstream cards for bigger hypeLets face it, this was "reported" (made up) by wccftech so its ultimately ******** and was just their usual click bait headline. Just another article that will drive up expectations to stupid levels.
I could be wrong but I'm betting that's where AMD will be targeting most of their sales. Reasonable price, high performance with a halo card for the wealthy enthusiasts.
Ordinarily I'd agree, but if you watch AdoredTV's analysis of the RDNA2 graphics in the upcoming consoles, it does bode very well for desktop (subject to price of course). We've been burnt a lot in recent years expecting big leaps by AMD GPU division. ive decided to opt for hope rather than expect

Same.... i'm happy if the AMD Halo card is a bit faster than the 2080TI for a chunk less, that brings the rest of the price stack down.
Nvidia can have their £2000 "Fastest Gaming Card" Tax, not interested.....
I'm not sure everybody does want that from AMD. If AMD trying to compete at the halo end compromises their mid-range capability or market offering, I'd suggest that most people aren't interested in an AMD halo product. The problem for AMD is that Nvidia could easily have both, bit faster than the 2080ti performance for a chunk less and the top Halo card for big money.
And, if that is AMD's halo card that means they aren't competing at the halo end of the market where everybody wants to see them compete.
