Nothing serious @WARburton we're just ribbing. Topics tend to bleed over a lot in the hardware sections, with it being AI-based it could be argued to be pertinent.

Quite a bit it would seem but the future may not be all doom and gloom. They have Arrow Lake coming and with AMD dropping the ball with Zen5 it gives them a small opportunity to get some good PR. More importantly Intel has new fabs coming online in the next year or so which are likely to put them back as the industry's process leader.
It's all to play for over the next 10 years.

Plus AMD no longer have the genius Jim Keller on their CPU design team. He was largely responsible for the incredible performance of the first few Zen generations. He also left behind instructions/roadmaps of further developments for Zen, which AMD have been following over the last few years.
It's my opinion that this well has now been drained, explaining the poor performance uplift from Zen4 to Zen5. Hopefully I'm wrong, though we may just see AMD increase power and try and bruteforce performance for the next few generations, rather than the IPC/design led process that we've seen over the last few years.

To answer your question AMD are primarily a CPU company, there isn't really a perfect fit room for a thread like this.

I think we can allow every company the odd "bad" launch. And the current 9000 CPUs do offer some solid improvement in a few areas.
Once they see the classic AMD price-cuts, we will all forget about the minimal gaming gains.
I do like companies to receive a lot of stick for bad marketing though, and hopefully after this launch AMD cleanse the marketing department.
