AMD Polaris architecture – GCN 4.0

So yup, dual Polaris 10, it was rumoured, rumoured to be on interposer which would be very interesting and under $500, back to the days of the 4870x2 with epic pricing. ALso suggests that X2 version coming at or very close to single card launch. Based on those powercolour images, guessing the dual card comes with liquid cooling, so 4870x2 pricing, performance but Fury X noise levels ;)

As a launch that definitely tickled my interest... obviously waiting on proper reviews but if that $199 price point for that performance is on the money then that is epic news :)

I wonder why they decided to give comparisons to NVidia rather than their own cards, seeing as NVidia's presentation only compared to their own cards.

Not really :( . Problem with dual cards is when crossfire/sli doesnt work or work well

Both AMD and Nvidia have been putting less work into DX11 mgpu, my guess is both are focusing on DX12 mgpu on new gen cards and with lower api overheads and better dev visibility of both cards I do actually think mgpu will make a massive step forward in the next year.

Yea. So single card wise, nothing to write home about. But GREAT price.

They seem to indicate they will improve multi gpu. But still, I don't like the idea of relying on drivers.

Because they need to take the fight to Nvidia and claw back people from that side of the fence. Appealing directly to them makes sense. They're likely not going to care how AMD's new card stacks up against AMD's old card. They want to know why they should go back to AMD instead of buying a new Nvidia card.

Hate to be a negative Nancy but all I got from the 50% utilisation was that crossfire isn't working amazingly and I'm not expecting casts improvements with that available "headroom".
