AMD Polaris architecture – GCN 4.0

Both AMD and Nvidia have been putting less work into DX11 mgpu, my guess is both are focusing on DX12 mgpu on new gen cards and with lower api overheads and better dev visibility of both cards I do actually think mgpu will make a massive step forward in the next year.

While i also hope this is the case its been stated many times now with DX 12 mgpu its more reliant on the dev and some devs are just plain lazy. Also wont help with older games

Is it just me or is there a noticeable IQ difference between those AotS screenshots?

I don't know which side is which card but the left hand image seems to be a bit washed out, not as vibrant.

I won't be going multi-gpu until I see it has much much better support. This probably leaves me going for a 1070 this time around until Vega/Ti comes out.

Still, £165-170 price point looks great. But let us see how it performs.

if the 2x 480 is 10% faster than 1x 1080 with just 50% GPU utilisation why didn't they just use a single GPU?

I do hope that isn't it's theoretical performance ceiling, because better optimising their throughput was one of the things we all expected them to improve massively.

Kinda dissapointed, from the spec sheets it looks roughly 290 performance. It might be a bargain but that performance level has been around for years.

I guess now we wait for Vega.
