AMD Radeon R9 290X with Hawaii GPU pictured, has 512-bit 4GB Memory

Hoping for a replacement for my 6970

Tucked away £400 but would ideally get a £300 card with double the performance and I'd be happy

If it out performs my 6970's in xfire by a good amount then I'm in the same boat as you. Dont think I can reach £400 though as I have money stored way for both next gen consoles for release.

I replaced 6970 (sold it for110£) to 7950 windforce (bought it for 165 or 162 £) from ocuk , but now in dilemma sell 7950 or add another one , would like single card solution , something that could handle 120hz bf4 without blure or dof at least.

edit: but i'm afraid if i want to replace 7950 will cost more then 50 ~ 60 £ extra

I'm still running a 6870.

Whatever AMD announce in two days will most likely end up in my PC, as it's going to be hugely more powerful than that.

Running a 6870 here as well which i think cost about £200 when i bought it on release.

Got a good feeling that £200 spent on the new card releases is going to get me something much more powerful.

Have spent that much time thinking of these cards, what they might bring will I change over from NVidia that I cannot even get Amd aib's right I plumbed for the gigabyte 7990's on special over the weekend and be done with it.
Would certainly like to roadtest one of the new cards but will have to wait another month, what are your plans LtMatt?:)

I'm stuck with what i have. Thanks to OCUK my cards are not worth selling any more. :D

My prediction

When the R9 290X goes on the shelves it will be £50 less than the cheapest GTX 780.

The problem is what will NVidia do with their pricing if anything between now and October.

Nvidia is likely to do nothing.
Unless they want to angry every Titan buyer by lowering price...too much.
This might be a price/performance war nvidia cant win.

They won't anger me by lowering prices.

I bought my Titan's with the view that they were guaranteed to lose value quickly, also I am more interested in what performance GPUs can manage rather than having them as a sound investment. Anyone buying a highend GPU for any other reason would be unwise.
