Might have to place a pre-order for the R9 290X in that case. Although I do wish the cards weren't the reference design.
AIB cards with better coolers should appear about 4-6 weeks later apparently.

hm. This is presumably the subject of that other thread where someone tweeted that Nvidia had shown them something that is big news and that gamers will love?
The Titan is ~£800 and the 290X is (apparently) £550. Why are you guys balking at the price if the performance is supposed to be slightly better?
