Given the amount of heat the 290X will produce I'd say well worth waiting for the custom coolers unless you plan to go H20

40% more stream processors when the 7970 matrix platinum gets a triple slot heat pipe cooler for 1100Mhz guaranteed clocks.......

I'm betting an OC'd reference air cooled 290x will be about 10% faster than an 1200Mhz matrix platinum for double the price.

Just 28 left on today only.... though I'm sure that figure has stuck!

290x has great potential but not on 28nm

In other other countries in Europe,

AMD R9 290 is £400

AMD R9 290X, lowest is £512 upwards to £650.

Thinking £400 seems quite a lot for the 290, but if if it's on par with the 780 it will look decent value.

Hope we get reviews on the 15th..
 
It's at the high end of what I was hoping for, but I'd be reasonably happy with £400 for the 290 - assuming it will go toe to toe with the 780.

My girlfriend in the time I have known her has given Black & White 2, Anno 1404 + 1704 extesnive play throughs.... (difficulty always set to easy)

.......and when she decided to bunk of her work for a week coming up to Christmas, she got hooked to the tune of 10-12 hours per day on 'The Horsey Game' (Red Dead Redemption to you and I) and has put a lot of hours into 'Brains' (Plants v Zombies) and still plays that on her MacBook.

Could never ever call her a 'gamer' though, and she would never dream of spending money on anything gaming related.

Is this from the unofficial MSI list of prices for their R7 and R9 GPUs or is this from European retailers?

ive been a pc only gamer for lots years
when i was playing RO more that was crazy i think that game is almost 50/50 with girls, female only pinay guilds that a lot of fun

tribes im not sure rly how many other girls play, only 3 i knew competitively but thats a tough game to get good at, and a bad attitude towards girls on comms anyway so that not help

LoL is pretty mixed too,

anyway back on topic! i guess we all assumed it would be the 15th they released but they never said that, hope for some good reviews soon :)
& i hope this deposit thing doesnt catch on! amd isnt a kickstart project!
 
Lol come on people. Have we not learned anything from the rumour mill? Never believe anything you hear until it from official sources. I had a good LOL at some of the posts last night though. :D
