AMD Radeon R9 290X with Hawaii GPU pictured, has 512-bit 4GB Memory

How much bandwidth do ya need?:p

Granted Elpida on a 512bit bus will probably be plenty. But still i hope they go the hynix/samsung route.

I actually have some of the best clocking 7950 Elpida ram ive ever seen but id still rather have hynix. The name Elpida just sounds cheap, like Lidl or Aldi. Sure we all shop there, but no one admits this publicly. :o :( :p

I'll have to see what my 780 can do, not even overclocked it yet...just been running stock :(

@Matt, that is a nice perf boost but ultimately that is "best case" most games require nowhere near that kind of memory bandwidth. Would be nice to make a benchmark of a few AAA games with just memory overclocks.

If i wasn't so lazy it'd already be done :)

Granted mate but if you look at my original quote this is exactly what i said. I would expect similar from crysis 3 at highest settings with AA. It will make a difference thats for sure in some games. I predict this is enough to give the card the edge over the competition. After all it has less shaders, smaller in die size, fewer transistors, less memory. The only advantage it has is a bigger bus, oh and it will cost half the price of a titan. :p

Which one did you get? :)

Just a normal reference 780, with the volt hack i saw no benefit paying a premium for the LTG and classy etc, i also get the added bonus of blocks from the get go :D

Didn't read your post, just looked at the pictures! :D :(

I shouldn't be reading this, I've only had my 7970 for a few weeks and want to upgrade already. I know I don't need to :(

Ha, i know what you mean. Only had my GTX 670 sli for just over a month and would be tempted to get one of these if it is £400 or under.....

Thankfully i think AMD will price it out of my budget.....i hope...sort of :D

You know what they say (by they i mean Rusty) Jono. Once you go black you never go back. The same applies with equivalent AMD cards. :p

Grouphug!
24 hours and 25min to stream....:D

All aboard the 'mantrain'. (yikes don't search that 'term' with safe search off :( )

Ive had Radeon cards before (when they were ATI!) 9800 pro! That was a beast back in the day! Since then its been 7800gtx,8800gtx,cheapo 480gtx and now two cheapo gtx 670's.

Thing is, i only game at 1080p on one screen so AMD's advantage with vram and bus width is mostly lost on me.

Nevertheless, if ts priced amazingly i could be tempted. Anytihng over £400 is over my personal "thats a stupid price/waste of money" line for a GPU :p
