Ah fair enough, are you hitting the vram limit often then or just playing it safe?
Is that for 4k?
The following games benefit from 8GB.
Battlefield 4 (Mantle)
Dragon Age (Mantle)
Thief (Mantle)
Hitman Absolution (DX)
Crysis 3 (DX)
Shadow Of Mordor (DX)
COD Advanced Warfare (DX)
Watchdogs (DX)
Wolfenstein (DX)
Those are the games i know of and play, there may be others.
One thing to consider, you'll need at least two 290X 8GB in the majority (but not all!) of cases to use more than 4gb and keep playable fps.
295x2's are slightly faster and cooler than my 8GB 290X cards, but once you exceed 4gb video memory no other card available can match the 290X 8GB.
Is that for 4k?
What would happened if I would tri fire 295x2 with 8gb 290x? theoretical question... I am too undecided about what monitor to go for... will see what the free sync gives us.... ideally one 4k 144hz for sub 500quid...but I can dream on....
Matt, I have a Tri-X 290 here that's been returned from RMA. Is it worth pairing up with the 295x2 do you think? I'm thinking the gain will be minimal...
Yes worth doing.
